This is great news, Subriel needs exposure and Match Room is willing to do give it, PBC, Golden Boy and Top Rank weren't offering any unification fights. Its not guaranteed he gets Haney but that would look a big duck if he doesn't take it. I can't wait, the world needs to meet Subriel Matias and Match Room will show him off. Can you imagine Bad Bunny, Baby, walking Subriel Matias into the ring, did we not just see Taylor Swift win the Super Bowl? I think Matias needed a career change. Since becoming a PBC affiliate, he had 6 fights (Ananyan to Ergashev) in 4 years. It never felt like PBC took full advantage of his PR nationality and his all-action style. Matias didn't seem like a top priority, and I think he should be. His shelf-life as a pressure fighter is short, so anyone who promotes him needs to make a concerted effort to build him.

That's why Matias left. 4 fights in 3 years isn't good. I've made it clear many times I'm not one of the anti-PBC weirdos but how can we fault anyone for trying to fight more often?
