This analogy would only work if you OWN the company otherwise that guy won't last.

You get promoted at a company after all your hard work and now starting doing minimal work and start doing only what you like doing and not what you don't.
There are now younger employees that put in the hours, make a hell of a lot less than you and want your job.

nope!!! what i meant is that if you work as an operator on a assembly line then you get promoted to a lead position, you AINT gonna be on the line working yo azz off! you'll be managing the line and making sure it's being ran smoothly. the type of work will be different, you wont have to use much man power being the lead, instead you will be instructing the operators on what to do, etc..

wont change a thing if they aint got the experience/skills to fit the higher position... we have 50-60s year old Filipino ladies at my work place putting in major work... you think they gonna get promoted to a supervisor position???? NOPE! they may be hard workers but they dont have the requirements for a position like lead or supervisor, etc..

same goes for that "young kid" fresh out of high school... he may be a hard worker, but does he have a degree and experience to work as a supervisor position and lead a whole team? NOPE!

The problem is that for the past 20 years, fans have focused on undefeated resumes and that has brought the cherry-picking era, he less risk for the most reward, and the two most prominent have been Floyd and canelo that has taken this thing to another level, Floyd most be impressed. Now, the alphabet soups don't care because there is money in their pockets, the more time those like floyd and canelo are on top, the more money all parties involved are making. Before this cherry-picking era started, if you were a boxer who wanted to make serious money you needed to fight the best, or no serious money coming your way. That's why we saw SRR fight the likes of Basilio, LaMotta, Kid Gavilan, and SRL vs Duran, Hagler, Benitez, Hearns, Salvador Sanchez vs Nelson, Gomez, the list is almost endless.

Of course is the cherry picking, he's not fighting the real threat in his division, he fought a manufactured mandatory in ryder, which he's in the same level than yildrim, fielding and smith, while ignoring benavidez and Morrell Jr that has been his mandatory for years now. By the way, you don't need to fight every dangerous opponent, once in a while you could fight, like Duran did, the Esteban, Benitez, Leonard, Hearns, The Blade and Hagler's of the world. Just for the fans, but he doesn't do it because every time he does he gets embarrassed. So he just bring a two divisions down that hasn't fought in two years or domestic level fighter like ryder.

you said he has to defend his title which is what he i doing... so you are now crying about the opponents like i mention in my early post. you just want him to keep on fighting until he loses then you'll be happy, just say it.

Trout was a decent fighter and nothing more. All he did was beat a finished smaller Cotto coming from a loss to Floyd. He never once beat a decent fighter his own weight who was fresh.

Smith, the fighter he ducked until he saw the Ryder fight then made sure he only gave him 3 weeks to prepare in the covid pandemic where we had a lockdown over here so couldn't have sparring partners to train properly? Yeah, all carefully planned. It meant nothing.

He ducked Saunders for years saying he was "Too boring". We all know what that's codeword for. But then he saw him have the struggle against Coceres, he jumped on it knowing Billy lacked discipline. He waited him out for years. Just like he did with Golovkin. Canelo would have needed another one of his robberies too had he never caught Billy with that 1 in a million shot to the eye. Billy was winning while Canelo's activity dropped due to having poor stamina and offering up wild swings in frustration.

Plant is just another fringe level fighter. He's decent, but not world class. He only has the win over another decent fighter in Uzcategui and nothing else.

Golovkin was waited out for years. Canelo even dropped the WBC title to further avoid him. When they fought, Canelo lost but got the gift draw only to fail a drug test for the rematch, lose again, but this time get the gift win.

Sorry, but Canelo is a joke. Why don't you list his other supposedly great wins over his career? You know, the wins that supposedly make him one of the greats? Only the Saunders win is a good world class win out of these. 2 are decent fringe level with the other being a robbery after aging him out.

If Canelo resume is joke imagine the rest of all the boxers. Even Crawford remuse is much weaker than Canelo. Go figure.
