Is David Benavidez Better Than People Give Him Credit For

Wouldn’t he overwhelm Bivol and Alvarez with all of that pressure

No fighter stays anything forever. The master boxer 99.99% of the time eventually gets humiliated and the Boogeyman will eventually be humbled. Just the way the sport works.

Benavidez particularly is in good spot. Canelo, Bivol , and Beterbiev are all fighters considered to be elite and all of them are much older. Pressure tend to burn out by 30 but 27 year old pressure fighter will be a lot to handle for guys post 35.

Say what you will but Benny’s best chance is Canelo
Can’t see him beating the other two even at their age

Wait till they put David in with a real one!

So far we really only have one good example of how he performs against top competition, and that's in his own division, maybe two if you rate Andrade, which I didn't, and don't. And Plant seems to fold from pressure at the end anyways. I'd like to see him against some of the European guys at 175, really. How does he do with guys he can't bully? Or Morrell. I suspect he probably folds Mbilli, who's way too easy to hit. Ditto Munguía.

I think if David came into the boxing seen 10 years ago. We would be able to see how good he is. As of now. Boxers are either past their prime or the division is SOFT. If he goes up to 175 and fights Bivol and Beterbiev. That would be a great test.

Morrell is the Cuban with a punch?

him and David could make great rivals for one another

Yeah. He's the obvious rival for Benavidez since Canelo can't be bothered to fight actual super middleweights and defend against his mandatories.
