Here is the reason why Mosley unifying with Berto will be a lost cause.

surprised nobody's made note of that ^
So then why were they talking about stripping Berto for not fighting Collazo? That is why this sanctioning body mess has got me confused. I think the WBC has got two schemes going on. I don't think Floyd is really ranked in the WBC, but he is considered champion emeritus. It's the same thing they had going on with Vitali. And Sam Peter was the actual mando for Maskaev.

I disagree, everybody knows Mosley wants a big fight and hasn't fought in a year. This win would make him almost undeniable for one of the three. beating Berto will do for Mosley what beating Pavlik did for Hopkins. IMO. If Shane whooped Berto ass collazo would be snaked cause nobody would want to see that and even the sanctioning body in question would have to atleast consider turning a blind eye cause a win assures a match with Mayweather Cotto Or Pac...I think he should do this fight. I want to see him fight Floyd as well, but whats the guy gonna do wait another year.

well your welcome to check the site. www.wbcboxing.com

funny you mention the Emeritus as the site says Floyd is still that champion, but for Super Welter. in fact the WBC's Welterweight doesn't have an Emeritus champion, go figure.

but again im going right off the site .. the Welterweight WBC Champ is Berto, he gained his title in June of 2008, last defended it in May etc.. and then to the rankings

where Collazo (who was #1 is now bumped down to 2)

and regarding the whole stripping Berto for not fighting Collazo, I read somewhere that said the purse bid for the Collazo rematch was canceled.

right im familiar with the Vitali/Peter/Maskaev situation .. Peter was the mandatory and beat Maskaev .. and Vitali like you mentioned got his title shot off of being the emeritus champion

**what's funny is that Collazo never had to win the WBC's mandatory position, if I can remember correctly Luis just complained until the WBC put him at #1 ..thus giving him the shot at Berto.

I think that Floyd being in the #1 position is something that happened within the past few weeks. I know that a couple of days ago is when the WBC mentioned that they were calling off that purse bid and allowing this fight to go through. Maybe they won't strip Mosley after all. You've got to remember that the WBC would look like total crooks if they stripped a guy of Mosley's stature who is connected to Golden Boy and respected in boxing.

well hey who knows. but your right, they can strip someone like Bradley (who's not a big name) yet keep Mosley the champ. call it politicing if you will but as a corupt organization they can do what they want right?

plus think of all the backlash they'd get if they "ruined" the unification fight by threatning to strip the winner. Doing that would create a lot of unneccessary negativity in the boxing community.

and true, your right that sometimes we dunno what's going on with these sanctioning orgs.

but I know for a fact that having Mayweather #1 for the WBC could wind up benefiting the WBC in the long run

as Mayweather hasn't selected his next opponent yet.

            we'll just have to see

and I wonder what Collazo and Selcuk Aydin will do in the meantime.

              WBC Final Eliminator

I was looking up Selcuk Aydin and found an article regarding his last fight ... the win you mentioned over Jackson Bonsei Onsu

              here's the article http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...%3D2%26hl%3Den

              but what I found interesting

the fight was said to be a "WBC final eliminator for the right to face WBC welterweight world champion Andre Berto"

makes me think ... how could this guy leap frog Collazo and get to fight in a title Eliminator. hmmmm
