  • I dint think Ortiz was robbed tbh.

Threw the last few rounds away and just didn’t engage enough throughout. Reminded me a bit of Joseph Parker vs Hughie Fury.

I think you can make a genuine argument that Ortiz won, but 115-113 Lopez isn’t egregious IMO. The 117-111 card was egregious though.

A bad look for Teofimo though, he definitely struggles to cut the ring off. Doesn’t bode well for potential fights against rivals such as Haney and Shakur.

Ortiz was way too negative and didn't throw enough to win sufficient rounds in my view. Teo should fight Matias next, much better stylistic match up for him, and if he wins, people will be praising him again.

Teo definitely needs to work on his coming forward game because anybody that can will definitely try to make him lead.

I'd pretty confidently pick Haney to beat Teo.

I thought Ortiz won, but I am also a proponent of you have to take it from the champ ,,, his corner needed to push him to be more active and not leave it to the judges….117-111 was absolutely egregious though ………Argument for 7-5 TEO could be made but you have to be trying hard …

I think he had a stronger case for winning this fight than the Loma fight fwiw

            Thank you for that.

IMO I don't think Ortiz won or Deserved to win.

I get it. This is Boxing.
            Hit and not get hit.

But when a fighters moving so much with minimal engagement , pitty pat jabs and few counters.
I just can't see how you can score the fight for him against the " Champ ".

I didn't score it but like 90%+ of the scores I saw had Ortiz winning. The boxrec scorers got it 7-5 Ortiz last I looked.

More than anything else I thought the fight ****** so I doubt I'll watch again to score it myself so I think I'll chalk it up as a fight Ortiz won when he fought, but he gave away so much of the fight by running & doing little that it leaned it into it going either way. So Im not mad about the decision. Im mad the fight ******.

And that 9-3 card seemed off, but 7-5 Teo didn't really sound crazy to me in real time.

I disagree. The difference vs. the typical 'runner' argument is that Ortiz engaged, and landed. Teo was credited with landing 70 punches or so in the fight.. I remember 1 of them. Dude didn't land anything, then he would get frustrated that he can't box, and he would retreat into a corner while trying to look tough. Ortiz would come and get him from the corner, land something virtually every time, then go back to boxing.

Ortiz wanted to box. Teo couldn't box and acted like a whiner. All of those 'poses' he struct, and backing off, he didn't do anything.
He was given the 12th round.. he didn't land ANYTHING while walking into a check hook and straight into jab (that I remember).

This stinker is on Teo's inability to box, not so much on Ortiz.

Ortiz was so negative man, he was constantly backing up.

I’d have had no issue with Ortiz getting the decision but neither guy went out there and won clearly.

I’m not a fan of punch stats but I think ESPN showed them post fight and it was 78 to 80. Was a close fight with very limited action.
