This division is Hrgovic's to take.
For those of you who watched the Olympics in 2016, Hrgovic was robbed over the Gold medal winner Yoka who has failed two PED tests as a pro.
Hrgovic has wins over well-known pros such as Parker,Yoka, Kuzmin, Nistor, and Pero as an amateur.
He was the #1 ranked super heavyweight coming into the 2016 Olympics at a time when he was just coming into his own. I predicted he would win a word title back then as I still do now.
Okay he lost to Joyce, a man of 26 when he was a boy of 20. He was never knocked down in 70 fights according to boxrec.
Since going pro he has beaten six undefeated fighters, is 17-0 with 14 KO. He has beaten five fighters with 1 or 2 loses when he foght them. He is currently ranked #1 by the IBF. In 17 total fights few men have a more impressive resume. A world title fight awaits. These are the facts, just in case you don't know them.
As a professional Hrgovic has a confrontational style meaning you have to fight him on his terms. The boxers are dealing with Hrgovic who has a good jab, moves his feet well and can cut off the ring. He is an active puncher with good boxer with 12 round stamina so out landing him is not an easy task. He owns a 82" reach and stands 6'6" tall weighing
in at 245 Lbs. He is also one of the best body punchers around today. And of course he is a legitimate power puncher with accurate rights and hooks. He can be countered due to his aggressiveness and average defense. But he has proven to have a grade A chin when hit. I have yet to see him hold on and clinch when hit. And he has never been stopped in the amateurs or pro's. His hand speed is decent.
Now onto his potential opponents.
The IBF World Title fight. He could fight Kabel who is ranked in the top ten by ring magazine and box rec. He is undefeated and in his prime. A solid contender this is an acceptable title fight opponent. Fury was supposed to fight him a few years ago as a tlte defense but backed out of the fight! After Hrgovic, the IBF ranks him #2. If this fight is made I think Hrgovic knocks him out and picks up his 7th win over an undefeated fighter which may be a modern day record.
First title defense.
Usyk. The Best fight out there in my opinion at heavyweight. Usyk is viewed as the #1 heavyweight in the world. If they meet I would favor Hrgovic to win 60/40. The longer this fight takes to be made the more the 37 year old may decline and slow down due to age. And with Usky his speed advantages over his opponent is a key for him not to wait too long. His body is soft, so Hrgovic's body punching will be a factor.
or
Fury. I don't care what the judges say he drew with a 0-0 fighter in my judgement and was floored. Fury is a talented top 5 fighter , but he is chinny, fat, and cheats. He has been busted with PED's before and docked points in five separate fights. He fights the old, out of shape and not very good in general. Hrgovic vs Fury is the #1 fight I want to see, And I think Hrgovic knocks him out. A cheater Fury is, but he is no fool and I highly doubt fans will see this fight. Fury is now 35, and in my opinion is in decline. He will be 36 in August.
After Fury vs Usyk happens, Hrgovic should fight the winner. If that does not happen right away a money grab vs. Joshua age 34 , or Wilder age 38 will do. A year from now their age will change and in my opinion both men are on the decline. There is also Parker as option,.
