The second part is , I always find it amusing how the average fan still thinks you need to be some thug or have a hard life to be a good fighter . I remember going into a local boxing tournament in P.A while holding a Union job in N.Y and some guys trying to talk me out it because I’d be fighting guys who need the money and possibly ex cons etc etc…like I was some privileged kid going into a man’s backyard ready to get killed . My sparring sessions with my brother alone over qualified me and had me prepared for it .
Well after word got out on the phone call that I knocked out everyone they put in front of me that perception changed fast when I went back days later …and I remember telling one particular boss there if I’m fighting guys that were in prison they should’ve stayed there bc it was much safer , the look he gave me with his eyes rolled ,but he ate his words . Lol
Smart ppl win fights ,anyone can have to over come something in life which usual is the majority population . Throw in experience and skills etc etc that’s just more to go on , I had 3 uncles who boxed and my father was 19 and 1 in the amateurs, military occupation probably hindered him going pro by the time he was discharged . All those family members were well off though they were street guys , a street mind set imop is an adv up you don’t actually have to get off the streets physically to be a good fighter that’s some b.s and always was . Lol

Even rich people see winning as a way of supporting their family dont they? And though people like to say that money kills your desire to fight, I think the beat down and defeated again scenario creeps up against a confident opponent with everything going for them.

You lost, your score is 0:1. You can talk as much you want that you won. First you must win and then you can claim that victory is yours.
I really hope that AJ KO's him because someone need to stop these MMA guys and put them in a place where they belong, in the cage.

Many good comments here.
Sure, if you are poor, you have more desire for all things nice.
And this great movie cliche where Rocky goes into snowy Russia or a grim gym to train there to win is bs.
Yes, Klitschko went to mountains to train, but his set up there was insanely pricey with a pool and all, not to mention all German chemical industry working for him.
Give me good food, recovery and expensive equipment instead of a sand mine any day of the week.
