It's difficult to trap Canelo Alvarez against the ropes thanks to his slippery defense, but it was even harder to lock him into a long-term deal. For years the Mexican star sauntered around the boxing landscape listening to the best offers. Once he heard what was out there, he signed on for a transient amount of time.

    That was the original plan
    Two Charlo’s and a Spence
Wouldn’t be so surprised if it did happen
Maybe a booster for Spence to regain some confidence but can’t see beating Canelo
Maybe they got the envelope ready for a Crawford-Spence rematch ?
Nah , Canelo won’t lay down
Still hoping for Canelo to take a beating from Bud

Hans Themistode articles are always built around a few lines of baseless speculation he's viewed on the internet. He manages to shoehorn a few esoteric words in there, which is presumably supposed to add gravitas to the article.

Yeah generally the articles on here are at a standard level with a few typos/mistakes but generally informative and interesting (which is actually why people read them). Then there’s some quality opinion pieces here and there.

Then there’s Hans articles which are so poor it stands out from the rest in stark contrast. In all the years on Boxingscene, I’ve never seen such low quality articles.

If Benavidez ain't one of these next two fights, the backlash is going to be massive. A three-fight PBC deal fighting guys who ain't even in even his division. Benavidez been his mandatory for dam near 2 years already and the WBC been crickets the whole time. Lol

At this stage of the game I don't think it would worry him too much, Im sure they looking at a lot of things right now, I hope he fights DB next as the longer he waits the less winable it becomes, but there would be some big money on the table from others going on as well, we will know soon enough.

He's not going to fight Spence. That would be cruel.

Agreed. Canelo seems unbothered by anything said about him nowadays. He has nothing more to prove in the sport and deserves to hand out the golden ticket to whoever he chooses. But as long as Benavidez keeps running over the competition, his name is gonna haunt Canelo everywhere he goes no matter where he's at nor what he's doing. Hopefully it happens sooner rather than later.

But at the same time he has no problem using public opinion as an excuse...
Saying that he doesn't want to fight Bivol at 168 because people would give him **** and no praise if he beat him at that weight.

I just realized how critical I have become of Canelo after being a fan of him for years.
Since anywhere around/after Saunders/Plant he IMO just crossed the line from being confident to being very arrogant.
