Bivol is just content to win fights, he doesn't want to particularly hurt his opponent nor does he want to take risks. It is not a style which is pleasant to watch but its effective in piling up rounds. There have been other overly technical fighters who were also able to show aggressiveness with it like Povetkin and GGG, unfortunately Bivol isn't one of them and his lack of power means his fights contain little drama just boxing dominance.

Beterbiev turned off Gvoz, Yarde Smith and Browne's switch, no lapses needed. He'll be flicking Bivol's for 12 rounds.
Bivol literally stands in front of you, throws somewhat repetitive combos in and out, resetting and shakes his arms. I'm still not seeing the Erislandy Lara type movement around the ring.
I mean Canelo literally hit him with telegraphed clubbing shots. I know he wouldn't do that with Beterbiev but it's not like he isn't there to be touched.Last edited by hhh1200; 02-05-2024, 12:49 AM.Comment

It's a 50/50 fight. Turdo Ramirez doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.
Bivol's distance control is the key to his victory. Beterbiev's key is timing and accuracy. JSJ said he leans toward Bivol but he said Beef is super accurate and he hits you where he wants to.
Bivol and his team were at the Gvosdyk/Beterbiev fight. He said they all knew Beterbiev would win because "The Nail" likes to mix it up (brawl). Dmitry is too smart (humble) to try it. Remember when Canela was on the ropes trying to lure him in? He didn't bite. Smart man.

"Clubbing shots"??? Do you mean arm punches Bivol easily shrugged off? Canelo landed 84 punches in 12 rounds. Bivol outlanded Canelo in every single round. Bivol was oddly a 4:1 underdog coming into the fight. A case can be made that Canelo did not win a single round of that fight.
