It has nothing to do with being "British". You can see on video he's punching just as hard. The Mexican was on steroids himself and hasn't been knocked out. That tells you why he went the distance. Then you add in the fact that Conor had been out for a year and a half.
With Dobson, he was defensive all night and looked to mostly survive. If you don't engage much, it's hard to knock those opponents out. But what shots he did take, he proved to have a good chin.
In the 5 fights before getting busted, he had 3 KO's and 2 decisions. Don't tell me, he decided to not take performance enhancers for Granados and Formella for, what reason? Just because he didn't feel like it? Conor is never going to have another KO with testing in place? Want to bet he very much will have KO's? How much do you want to bet?
Maybe every big puncher in history took performance enhancers only for the fights they knocked their opponent out. For the ones that went to a decision, they never felt the need to. Yeah, that's it.
