Adlay's on my boxrec watchlist, probably from those peoples fighters shows early on but idr tbh, but don't know much about him. Any info on how many am fights he had/his am record?

      This is what I found
"seventeen-year-old cuban born southpaw prospect fighting out of the uae but now pursuing his career in the united states. he is expected to fight between one forty & one forty-seven. said to have started boxing at four years old, a junior national team member, becoming a two-time national champion & awarded best boxer twice. he also participated in the sergey cup, in kharkiv (ukraine) placing first & again awarded best boxer. adlay arrived at the cuboxing club in sochi, russia where he won a gold & a silver in amateur tournaments. his record sits at two wins, no loses, including two knockouts. Please take a look"

that 'future of boxing' line is so cringe, and the people who get called it, usually fail.

He's good though, but Light Heavyweight is a division that belongs to Russia. After Beterbiev and Bivol, there's more Russian beasts coming around that weight trust me.

Ben feels massively overrated to me. Hes clearly a talented guy & high level prospect, BUT ppl acting like hes some future of boxing sh^t mostly cuz hes able to do some Emanuel Augustus sh^t on guys well beneath who Emanuel did his "drunken boxing" moves on are overrating the hell out of him.

What do you mean? He seems to still have time at 23 years old and has been really active in 2023.

                    -300 amateur fights (285-15)

-He was a 17-time National champion:
                    • 2020 USA Boxing Youth National Championships - 2nd
                    • 2019 Bornemissza Tournament - 1st

                    • 2019 National Junior Olympics - 2nd
                    • 2018 USA Boxing Junior National Championships - 1st
                    • 2018 National Junior Olympics - 2nd
                    • 2018 National Golden Gloves - 1st

                    • 2017 Western Regional Open - 1st
-Hasn't debuted yet, instead of targeting the Olympics he decided to go pro in late 2023.

-Stands at 6'1 with a reach of 74, wants to contend at light welterweight/super lightweight.

Emiliano Vargas (19 years old) (8-0, 7 KOs)

                    -120 amateur fights (110-10).

-He was a 7-time National champion.

Has debuted at 18 years old. (A year ago)

-Stands at 5'9 with a reach of 72-73 in, contends at lightweight.
He was a USA amateur youth champion in the boys, not the men's. Box Rec has his amateur record of 46-9. A decent prospect set to make his pro debut. His lost in he quarter finals of 2022 USA National Championships Quarter-Finals. He has faced weak competition and lost to the best he has faced. My guess is he will not advance beyond the 30 pro fighters ranks at Box Rec.

He was not the #1 or 2 glove for the USA the at his weight.

That is why he is scheduled to go pro on 3-16-23.

Boxrec was horribly inaccurate when they first started doing pro records. They are horribly inaccurate with amateur records now since they are still just a couple yrs into collecting them.

People gotta quit bringing up boxrec amateur records for this reason. I've seen too many articles & ppl quoting some guy who went to the Olympics & his resume is filled with huge gaps was somehow 8-6. I also hate that they count walkovers as wins & losses. Loma, a guy known for losing only 1 am fight, is 94-2 as an am on boxrec cuz of a walkover L.

That said I think we all realize advertised am records are also inaccurate, but I do believe more often than not the advertised record is far more accurate than boxrec due to how incomplete these boxrec records are in many regions (oddly Cuban olympic level guys have among the most accurate records I've found).

                      /rant about boxrec amateur records.
