He put in work. He won the IBF interim by beating Chukhadzian, defended it by beating Villa.

Interim means, literally , if the champ isn’t unifying or fighting a mandatory, they have to fight you next.

Spence was unifying. Crawford unified, now it’s time to defend against a mandatory.

    Crawford refused (ducked).

IBF stripped him and emailed it to Boots.

So now, the other orgs really should be breathing down Crawford’s neck, especially WBO.

Meanwhile, Boots said “come get yo belt back!”. Crawford refused again (ducking).

Crawford doesn’t have to fight Boots since he was stripped. But he does have to fight mandatory opposition and stop calling out lightweights, super lightweights, junior middleweights, middleweights and super middleweights. Call out a welterweight, ANY of them at this point.

And don’t say “he’s going to 154” - then he needs to vacate all the belts like he did to go up and fight Jeff Horn.

Crawford is at the end of the road. He will probably have a tune up at 154, than he will fight Tim at 154. If he wins, he will want to cash out against Canelo and retire.

Crawford and Canelo are in the same class now, whey both are ducking top guys from their divisions.

How long does Bud have to hang around waiting for ES before the contract expires? Because Errol seems to be such damaged goods at this point that a rematch just doesn't seem competitive.

The chances of Errol winning at this point seem less than the chances of him being G-manned and nobody wants to see that, especially not TC.

I'm not trying to do Spence a disservice here and obviously it's his & his teams decision whether he continues, but I'd like to see the governing body take a long hard look at whether it's appropriate to continue licensing him going forward. We've had enough tragedies in this game.

From my perspective as a boxing fan my first choice would be a matchup between Bud & Boots. I get what other posters are saying about Boots' thin resume, but boy does he pass the eye-test. Is there anyone else in the division that Boots loses to? I don't see anyone I'd bet on to defeat him except Terence Crawford.

The business of boxing pulls the strings these days and money is the melody they dance to. Maybe it's always been that way but when I look back at the fights I watched as a youth in the 70's & 80's fighters seemed to be judged on their abilities rather than their power to generate moolah.. Or maybe I was just naive.

Bud v Boots is the top dog taking on the ambitious pretender to his throne. Boots has skills but is he savvy enough to beat TC? Personally, I don't think he is yet, but who knows unless they get it on?

Bud v Spence 2 looks so uncompetitive and potentially dangerous to Errol's future wellbeing that as a fan I find it difficult to get behind it simply because it's more lucrative for both. I'm disappointed when I see other fight fans justifying matchups based purely on the biggest payday.

Makes sense unless a JMW Charlo or Canelo fight is possible.

If the rumors are true that Canelo plans to face Charlo in May and Crawford in Sept (which is hope is BS) , then Crawford won’t be fighting Ennis. They’ll probably like him up for a softer touch with a name like a Danny Garcia.
ptek ptek MulaKO MulaKO like this.

Haymon needs ratings on Prime, not the new LDBC hypejob who had a chance to fight Crawford 2x before he had to sign the standard 1 fight per year self deal with Haymon.

              Tim
              Spence 2
              Canelo

              >>>>>

              Ennis.

The reality is Ennis is the one who should be fighting Thurman or D Garcia.

No state commission should license Spence to fight, especially against someone like Crawford. A rematch will not be pretty at all, and I would pray for Errol's future health.

That looks like the plan, and Boots is azz out! To make matters worse, he had a deal with SHO (Not PBC), and SHO is out of business! On top of that, his promoter Cameron Dunkin dies! I don't know where Boots goes from here?

These past broke troubled fighters kill me with giving their input and advice on another grown a_S man. Crawford earned whatever options he decides to utilize not the other way around. If he decides to go up and fight Canelo that’s his dammmm choice and payday people get over it!
