Comments Thread For: Munguia On Potential Canelo Clash: "Now, We're Ready"

By Corey Erdman - Ever since he reached a certain level of acclaim, Jaime Munguia has probably been asked "when are you going to fight Canelo Alvarez?" every single day of his life. After bursting onto the scene during HBO's waning days in the sport, Munguia was established as the logical heir apparent--or at least next Mexican threat--to Canelo. Considering he offered to step and in and face Gennadiy Golovkin in 2018 (and was rejected by the Nevada commission), there's been the sense for six years now that there is no ceiling to the types of opponents boxing fans could suggest he face.

Give credit to Roach for admitting his offence is his defence
What happens when he’s not offensive rests to be seen
I was a little disappointed that Ryder didn’t throw more when Mungo was taking a breather
That was the only time Ryder looked to have the upper hand but it wasn’t continuously

I am lost as to why it's always the next thing up as opposed to celebrating what he did this time. This is a big win. He deserves a little bit of celebration now what he did.

Munguía still the same , if you didn’t learn defense when you start boxing you never will after, the only reason he beat Ryder is because delahoya clearly pay him , if not how you explain the two knockdowns on the 9th round, it’s very obvious Ryder just dropped himself to the canvas you can see the late reactions of the punches on both knockdowns and then his corner stopped the fight when munguia only hitting once with his wild power punches,

Roach's offense was his defense when boxed which is why he has Parkinson's. Not good for munguia

Munguia went to his old self and got the KO. The other stuff thinking in the middle of the ring was getting him tagged good. He was lucky that it was another fighter with no real punching power because Ryder got to him a few times.

Lol. Ryder wasn’t paid I don’t think but he’s done. That’s what happens to fighters after they get a canelo payday. Ryder wasn’t really there for the fight more to get another check and probably call it a career. Mungia hit him with some big punches dude got a good chin
