If Munguia last name was Vlokyov ppl here would be singing his praises.

im not thats your projection reflecting back on you. everything you say or do is in that lens so you think other people must think like you, and what happens is you ignore the actual content of what they are saying like you just did in my post. comparing guys like ggg, kovalev, beterbiev, etc...to munguia is laughable. making false equivalencies like that is the definition of projection. i just made a thread praising jesse rodriguez. why did i do that? cause he fights good competition. why do i bash munguia? cause he doesnt. same thing with tank. tank doesnt fight good competition. why would i pretend he does? loma on the other hand does. joshua until the ngannou fight fought much better comp than wilder. thats why i give them more respect. you see the pattern? where do race and nationality come into it? oh they dont. the only time they come up is when you bring it up...Comment

Vlokyov vs Plant, Charlo, or Morrell please. We'll see what's what then. I don't dislike him, he handles his business, not really super impressed with his skills. Has a great chin and is tough to deal with for the length of a fight.

if Munguia was Russian, he'd probably be fighting once every 2 years, hidden away, getting no opportunities for his talent.
Munguia deserves praise for his performance and is a good fighter,
but Beterbiev is a legit beast P4P animal on another level with a 100% KO ratio, who ******ly wasn't even in the the ring p4p ratings until this week, casuals don't know him, and it's rare for a Russian fighter to be actually allowed to be celebrated and given chances to be great, he had to adopt Canadian nationality to get a chance.

i actually dont care about him, dont think ive made a single post about him. im not a fan of certain nationalities/ethnicities. projection?
the point was munguia turned down fighting a top 5 guy for a belt and guess who he fought instead? jimmy kelly and Gonzalo Gaston Coria. people no one care about, people who arent good, people who dont have belts, people who arent ranked etc...
and you essentially proved my point by saying "oh hes not a big enough name for the great munguia" how or why did munguia get put on a pedestal? cause hes not an eastern euro. he has auto fans that will support him cause of his nationality/ethnicity. a lot of the eastern euro guys that you malign constantly actually fight good competition or try to. munguia does not try to and is being protected and its clear. thats the big hurdle we are having in this conversation. also what happens is when guys fight better competition they are more likely to lose so its common to hear detractors say "see he was overrated" "he was just hype" happened with ggg, kovalev, etc...yet they had really good careers. if munguia loses which he already should have to guys like dennis hogan he has no career on which to fall back on.
Given the slurpage from you after GGG beat a half dead Kasim Ouma, You’d definitely be talking about him like he was an ATG if Munguia had an Eastern European or Russian last name.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 01-29-2024, 12:40 PM.Comment
