Isnt Tim under PBC? If so he was ordered. Big difference. This is a weak fight. Keef hasn't fought at 154. He was lined up to fight Stanionis last everyone heard, at 147..now he magically gets another title shot at 154? Funny business....& rumored to be on ppv too?!

He's been inactive for sure but Thurman has fought Jan Zaveck, Julio Diaz, Robert Guerrero, Luis Collazo, Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia, and Manny Pacquiao among others. His only loss was a split decision to Pac on a 1st round flash knockdown.

To this point the biggest names on Tim's resume are Tony Harrison and Jeff Horn. If Tim can't get Charlo or Crawford next, Thurman is a good fight for him. If Tim can be the first to stop him that's a good notch on his belt and puts him in a better position to headline a PPV against Crawford or Charlo down the line.

So wait, I thought the narrative around here was that it was bad to drag someone up in weigh classes, that it was bad to fight someone that hadn't fought in 2 years, that it was bad to fight 35 year olds because they were old and shot, that it was bad to fight at 155 lb catch weights, that it was bad to fight non title fights.

This is good fight now? That will elevate someone's profile? What changed? Are people hypocrites? or are good/bad fights determined on skin color and who's promoting?

You can flippantly chalk it up to emotional PBC haters, but it rings hollow when we’re looking at the 1st fight card under the Amazon banner. That’s bound to be under the microscope & get some scrutiny. So far we’ve got the same formula just with a different platform—C+ fight card going on PPV in an attempt to meet illogical purse demands. If Amazon starts footing the bill for cards then we’ll have a better idea of their commitment to boxing.
