Boring. This guy got stopped a few fights ago.. another overmatched opponent.

Nery is a good fighter and throws hard thighs combinations. He stepped up and got stopped, nothing to be shamed of. I expect the Monster to win but this is a puncher's match up. Like someone said before, there are not too many big matchups at this weight.

Damn, Ionue going for the Cinco de Mayo date.

It would be on at like 6-8 AM so wouldn’t interfere with a Canelo card or whoever fights on that date.

Not to mention it's two different dates. Canelo is (tentatively) due to fight May 4. Inoue May 6, roughly 30-36 hours later.

That’d be moronic, they’d be fighting for a fraction of the money & eyeballs if this went down in Vegas… Nery should be counting his lucky stars if he gets sanctioned & this takes place in Japan. It’ll be a career high payday by far & this fight would hardly move the needle in LV. Then again, you’re probably just looking for something to gripe about since Nery’s gonna get outclassed & stopped.

If they somehow get past all the red tape to make this happen at the Tokyo Dome, this is a serious matchup. Nery being viewed as a villain in Japan for his KOs of Yamanaka then getting busted and banned against Japan's biggest star in Inoue will definitely sell that place out. Inoue fighting Tapales might have got him more accustomed to fighting southpaws, but Nery is a big puncher and a better fighter than Tapales IMO. This should be fireworks.
