  • A promoters summit took place

Looks like all the big names were there. Maybe good things will come from it?

We’re starting to see the thaw to the Cold War in the UK with Queensberry and Matchroom finally working together. Hopefully we see the same in the US with PBC, TR, MR, GBP etc all working together.

It needs to happen. With a lot of the big platforms that put boxing on the map pulled out, you can't just let it stall now. What's the good ole saying? Out of sight, out of mind? The less people are exposed to boxing, the less they'll care about it, whether rankings, whose champion, whose facing who, etc.

It's about time they put ego aside for the common good. If they want to keep boxing alive and well, they need to come up with solutions to get people to tune in and try to lower profit expectations out the gate. That's what I love about what ProboxTV is doing. They're going back to old school, showcasing up and comers who got the talent, but not the exposure. Using small venues, a live ticket gate audience, plus ad revenue/subscriptions that contain more content, they should maintain a management event. This can only grow as more people continue to tune in.

I feel boxing has gone too big too often lately and it has to go back to its roots of showcasing more fighters within smaller venues/arenas just to keep public interest.

Years ago we tried something similar with the formation of the BPA. It was a good idea, but never really went anywhere.......
