Why not? You can have sympathy for the Ukrainian people and dislike people who needlessly cling to titles at the same time.

Yeah, I guess I'd rather say "I'm happy that Akui finally got what he dreamed for" instead though. And frankly, his fight tactics was what I was disappointed moreso than that he rarely fought while holding a belt.

By the way, with Akui grabbing the belt and Teraji keeping his, there are currently 7 Japanese champions (Inoue bros, Ioka, Teraji, Akui, Shigeoka bros) and with Tanaka and Nakatani likely to be regaining belts next month, Japanese boxing could have 9 champions at the same time for possibly the first time in history (or atleast many decades)...atleast until Takuma possibly losing it right after Nakatani gains his.

Rumour was Kenshiro would fight Dalakian if he won, unsure whether he challenges his compatriot.

Thank goodness, I've been hoping someone would take that belt off Dalakian for years, Jimenez nearly did it, glad Akui pulled it off

Dalakian has looked like he was ripe for the taking forever, just never went up against the right fighter to get the job done. Not that he's a bad fighter but was just never that good
