Comments Thread For: Angel Garcia Believes Spence Made a Mistake By Moving Forward With Crawford Fight

Errol Spence Jr. was on top of the boxing world. But just when he reached the peak of the mountain, he was violently thrown off it. Spence walked around the welterweight division like he owned the place but with just one title in his possession, he knew he needed more. Eventually, in 2019, he managed to get Shawn Porter into the ring for a WBC/IBF unification.

Who cares what a crack head thinks? Not me. Should worry about his son actually winning a fight that isn't against a b level opponent.

Spence should of took the fight when Crawford was relatively new to the welterweight division. Not saying he'd of won still but he'd of been alot fresher. But waited way too long then had his issues out the ring and by then Crawford was flying in the division and was a full fledged 147lb fighter. When him and Crawford had there back and forth backstage during a fight card in like 2018 that's when Errol should of took it but haymon and whoever was advising errol wanted to stay in house

Spence's biggest problem was that he was never as good as people thought he was.

This is what happens when fights are marinated way too long; fighters not fighting in their prime as if things will always be the same. A lot of things can happen in a week's time, injuries, accidents, personal issues, legal issues, not mention difficulty of making weight, etc. Let alone years. Heck nobody even knows what tomorrow brings. That's why this whole thing about being scared of losing is a major problem in this sport. You lose, so what? You add it as a learning experience, then come back strong.

Fight should have happened years ago. You only have yourself to blame.

Oh well. When you take on all comers you will eventually lose, injuries or not. Spence beat a lot of good fighters and was a fine champion. This is why you don't drink and drive kids.

I see weirdos on Twitter (X) and YouTube commenting like Errol ain’t achieve none. Bro was a fantastic fighter who traveled to beat brook. Then went and took on anyone that was relevant. Would the fight of been different had Spence fought Crawford sooner? Maybe. Would it of changed the outcome of the fight? Imo not really.
