Mayer threw more, landed more and had more power in everything ... Looking at Jonas face after the fight was the best proof... Sucks for her to lose like that ...

Well at least she onlky lost a close decision as a contender. Sandy Ryan same decision was a champ and got ripped off in the States in a real robbery against McCaskill.Originally posted by club fighterHow could any of you even have the slightest faith that an American fighter is going to get a decision win in a close fight in the UK.
Mayer looked like she edged out a win with just her hustle, but Jonas landed more accurate punches throughout the bout, even though she was fading late.
You kind of get it when a contender goes into a champs back yard and doesn't win it clean but Ryan was also a champ and did win that one clean (no one called that close).. boxing.

Brilliant fight. So competitive and brutal. Hard to pick a winner n my view. Both ladies were incredible and sooo tough!Comment

Jonas did not win that fight. Took me 24 hours to come to terms with the result. The judge that had Mayer 97-93 nailed it. Too many power shots landed, zero power from Jonas. Joke result. Love the woman, but she lost by a stretch.
Wasn't even a Leonard- Hagler moment, she got done over. Poor judging IMOComment

I hate to have to call the race card, but I wonder how many of the viewers of this fight that called it for Mayer and saying she got robbed are White? This was a great, close fight. No way Mayer got robbed. While it could've gone either way, I gave it to Jonas by two points. If you asked me who got beat up, my answer will be Jonas, but if you asked who won on points, my answer will be Jonas. Fights are scored on a 10 point must system. Jonas in my opinion won more rounds, while close.Comment

For you to repeat the same post in two threads and say your not playing the race card , seems quite ironicI hate to have to call the race card, but I wonder how many of the viewers of this fight that called it for Mayer and saying she got robbed are White? Wouldn’t you agree ?Comment

I didn't say I'm not playing the race card. I said I hate to have to call it. For you to read my quotes at least twice and still get it wrong, wouldn't you find that reading may not be your strong point?
I stand by words, btw.Last edited by Lefty0616; 01-25-2024, 07:44 AM.Comment
