That’s my assessment having followed boxing for a while and seen these guys come and go
You had the May fans , Pac fans , where are they now ?
Those two attracted the casuals but did they stick around ?
Nope , most of them left and when they did come it was only for the finale
Just my two cents and opinion
If boxing keeps trying to put a square peg in a round hole I agree with your take. If boxing decides to actually appeal to fans (us the hardcores & those that come over when boxing does big things) on a consistent basis its a game changer for the sport.

I can't predict which way it'll go & knowing the history I'd lean towards a pessimistic stance, like you, with boxing thinking small instead of big, BUT if boxing rides the current its on its a tide that'll raise all ships to higher ground. The opportunity is there. Its just if "boxing" decides to do the right thing.

Hey man , can’t disagree with what your saying and I’m hopeful but just being realistic

Imagine a 1-1 fighter , mma guy fighting for the prestigious unified heavyweight championship
What does that say about the guys working their azz off to get to that pinnacle
Prestige is gone and so will beman people who dreamed of achieving that pinnacle , lmo
I totally agree. Nngannou shouldn't be in line for a shot at unification for all the reasons you mentioned.

These surely aren't the fights that are gonna happen, but there are some intriguing potential matchups if they really went for it:
          Hrgovic/Zhang 2
          Joyce/White
          Dubois/Huni
          Itauma/Romford Bull
          Yarde/Callum Smith
          Hutchinson/Spider Richards
          Parker/Conway
          Bentley/Ammo
          Sheeraz/Cash
          Heaney/Ababiy
          O'Leary/Mati
          Gwynne/Cully
          Hughes/Berinchyk
          Frankham/Castro
          Collins/Price
          Ball/Lara
          McCann/McGrail
          Masoud/Baluta

There is a rematch clause for Fury vs Usyk. Neither of those two will be free to fight anyone else for the immediate future.
