Comments Thread For: Joseph Parker Open To Scenario of Running Things Back With Joe Joyce in Future

Losing to Joe Joyce seemed detrimental to the career of Joseph Parker. While he wasn't old, it's been nearly five years since he held a world title, and considering how shopworn he looked, his championship days were ostensibly behind him.

Joe took heavy artillery in that first fight and his two fights against Grampa Zhang. Parker will stop Joyce if they rematch. Joe is damaged now and will never be the Juggernaut ever again. All he had was his chin and his engine and now he will never make it to the second half of fights.

"...and if the opportunity presents itself - revenge, are the only things on his mind. "

      What a load of horsesh.!t.

It's not about revenge. Its about redemption.

Revenge is for sore losers. Parker isn't sore about losing to Joyce, Joshua or Whyte. He lost. Big deal. Moving right along he got on with the job and learnt from the losses.

He's never complained about the losses. The losses don't haunt him and he's not obsessed about exacting revenge.

He's never needed rematch clauses to bail him out but if the rematch opportunity presents itself then sure, he's game to make amends.

Joyce needs Parker more than Parker needs Joyce. Parker has his heart set on Joshua though.

That guy took his belt under dubious circumstances. The Mighty Oilskin wants it back even if he has to clear out the division to get it and show AJ how much he's learnt in the 6 years since losing it.

AJ on the other hand doesn't want to know about Parker while Hearn has been quacking away in his free ear that doesn't have an earbud translating everything into the Joshuaese language only he understands.

The world of boxing landscape changes all the time. One scenario I predict is Parker beats Zhang, Ussyk beats Fury twice then retires. Parker gets elevated to full WBO champion after beating Zhang. That's why I think it's vital Joyce has a decent name in March when he returns as Parker would then defend against Joyce and for redemption, how sweet that would be in a title fight. So who should Joyce face, I would suggest someone like Kabyal.

That was a very physically tough fight for Parker more than it was for Joyce. I got tired just looking at Parker in there, I was exhausted with him. Joyce just kept coming.

Parker has newfound confidence because he beat Wilder, and Zhang KO’ed Joyce twice. It makes sense for him to be more confident but Joyce is still dangerous.

Parker has the chance, from nowhere to become the man of the new era. He's already destroyed Wilder with ease and strangly, despite being around a long time. He's quite young for a heavyweight. Only 32. Wins this one against the big China Man and he's right up there at the top table. Meanwhile Fury is a 35 year old alcoholic, drug addict fat lad coming off getting beaten up but some arm wrestlng guy. Usyk, a fighter all about speed, movement and skill is 36. His style will not age well as his body starts to fail him. Joshua at 34 still probably has a few years yet but Parker is in a great position. How much does he want it now though? The pathway to greatness is right in front of him.

You have to get past Zhang first, before entertaining any thought's about running it back against Joyce.
Joyce really knocked you out in brutal fashion, so I really don't know how wise it would be for you to to get back in the ring against him.

The Parker/Joyce fight was a good scrap & Parker hit him with everything but the kitchen sink & he kept coming. Parker was exhausted when he got stopped. I said before the fight that Parker looked soft & I thought he could be in better shape. He learned from it & took 3 rebuilding fights & got good work in the gym. He stayed in shape all year & was in top shape for Wilder. Maybe a Joyce rematch later down the road but for now concentrate on Zhang.
