  • Comments Thread For: Joshua Prefers To Face Tyson Fury, But Stands Firm That Usyk Will Win

While Anthony Joshua is backing Oleksandr Usyk to come away victorious next month, he admits that a showdown with Tyson Fury is more preferable. Usyk and Fury will collide in an undisputed showdown on February 17 in Saudi Arabia, with the WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC titles at stake.

Uh yeah OK...Bro, you melted down and couldn't accept you got beat by the better man.

That's your legacy. That's what people will remember about you. That you're a poor loser and an arrogant winner.

    How embarrasing and disrespectful.

He knows the little man has his number but be careful what you wish for as fighting Tyson at his best will be a public humiliation, but it looks like he might just sneak a easier route vacant title shot .El Turkey is throwing around mad money , so instead of fighting his old washed up lot he may have to be against the best . That’s of course if the novice doesn’t chin him.

Very well said. AJ is an arrogant, but pathetic little man. Yesterday "he wasn't comparing himself to Tyson", but was talking how he knocked down all their common opponents.

"In terms of how it goes" - it does "affect his life in a way" because he will either lose a third time against Usyk or will be fighting Fury who he constantly avoids, while "wants him" or "prefers him". But I hope Francis rids boxing of this fabricated star.

Ngannou will finish him off. Too much hunger, too much warrior for AJ at this point.

He'll most likely be a 3 time world champion grade a bellend to boot and super wealthy A.F.

Good on him. Earn that dosh but i doubt he's earnt the respect of his peers and the true warriors fighting for honour and glory and the chance to go up against the best.

He'll always be Hearn's prize pet poodle pimped and primped for posterity unless he beats Fury.

I doubt Fury will ever give him the chance again and why should he. Why should Usyk even whos schooled him twice.

I get Joshua is on some redemption identity search. All he's gonna find with Ngannou though is pain and loss. Even if he wins he loses cos Ngannou is gonna hurt him...real bad!

A year ago i'd have said Fury all day long. Now that Parker has put a smudge on his biggest career wins and he's been shown up a bit by a novice boxer I can't call it. Usyk has some serious spirit and a hell of a tank I can see Fury trying to swat a fly for 12 rounds and getting nowhere. On the flip side perhaps he hasn't been dialled in on all the tasks at hand recently and he'll come in for the Usyk fight a completely different guy. It's ironic that the fight no one wanted to happen has caused such a huge shake-up in opinions on the HW division.

Joshua KO's the Tipsy King. The Wallin fight shows that Fury struggles with anyone who has a jab. The Ngannou fight shows that Fury struggles with anyone who has a left hook. The Wilder fights show that Fury struggles with Bum Squad who has only one weapon and that cannot land a single hard punch on Oilskin Parker.

Fury is only good against slow plodders with no speed or skills. The boar meat king who beat Klitschko doesn't exist anymore.

The last time Fury faced a boxer was against Wallin and he went life and death. The time before that was Klitschko. In 9 years he has face one good opponent in Wallin and one above average in "Twerking" Deontay Wilder. Dillian Whyte was ruined by Povetkin, Joshua, Oilskin and Chisora and Chisora himself is the most shopworn fighter active today. Fury has the most manufactured resume of a HW champion since Deontay Wilder and the same fate awaits the Tipsy King if he fights the top guys in the division.

Do not forget: Fury tried to dodge Wilder III. He dodged the Klitschko rematch. He dodged the Usyk fight (likely will again) and he has not faced a legit contender in his entire career. He was lucky the first Wilder fight was not a KO loss for him. He was lucky the Wallin fight wasn't a TKO loss for him and he was lucky he got a slow count in the third Wilder fight. He has struggled while dodging all possible tough fights so far and he got a SD win against a 0-0, 0KO's guy last time around.

As soon as Fury faces someone that isn't a no-hoper, he will lose. Usyk is the best opponent he has faced since Klitschko and back then he was WAY faster and had better cardio. That's why Fury will pull out.

Someone is going to lose their 0 and the other is going to be the first undisputed, undefeated unified champion in a generation.

Both fighters will be dialed in and focussed in the extreme.

Their silence while AJ is primping himself for an exhibition and Parker is looking to clear a path to the title after his mate walks away from them speaks volumes.

After this one fight there won't be anything left for these guys to fight for. I don't believe there will be a rematch. The winner won't care about trash belts by alphabet orgs that mean nothing or more money they don't need.

They will have beaten the best of their era and secured an immortal legacy that will transcend even the champions of the past and give the fans everything to argue about 'what if' or ' if only'.
