So Mbilli is ranked #1 in the WBC with David Benavidez being the interim champ.

And #1 in the WBA with David Morrell being the “regular” champ.

He’s not going to be able to jump either of those guys to get Canelo first. He’d have to fight one of them, and I think both beat him.

Yeah, he's been #1 in WBA for long enough that he had to have turned down a Morrell fight. Morrell sleeps him badly. We saw what he can do when he's being pushed back in Rd 6 (basically gets punched a lot), which is almost certainly what happens to him vs Benavidez. He gets hit easily and apparently can't fight going backwards. Benavidez breaks him down and stops him.

Both fights would be great fun to watch while they lasted though.

Callum Smith is tough, but I thought Joe Smith Jr was too and Beterbiev easily mauled him in just a few minutes. I wonder if Callum Smith can go the distance. I don’t think he does, but not because he isn’t tough, it’s just that Beterbiev hits too damn hard.

Mbilli reminds me a lot of Youri Kalenga, Benavidez would be his Dorticos. But every Mbilli fight will be must watch for the rest of his career, can't wait for the ride

We effing need something like FNF back....I hate that I cant see guys like Murdoch or Sanchez come up to that big fight. It was so fun to watch fighters like provo and paulie win titles not hbo/show backed.
