Which is fine as well if he had dropped his belts and immediately went up to 154 and fought there sometime in December or something. And if he said that while still staying in 147 and fighting someone else not named Boots then that is just Bud ducking and wasting his career and a chance to add to his resume. Either way though there would've been some action near the top of 147 if not for the rematch holdup. If your eyes were that damaged, simply don't activate the rematch clause or atleast get the surgery immediately after the match.

The worst fallout from this is that has been six month on sitting on the 147 now with no plans for next fight yet. Boots is also not helping the cause because he, despite not having accomplished much is also sitting on the belt and waiting for a match that has no guarantee of happening. Basically NOTHING worth mentioning has occurred at 147 since last July.

Guy hasn’t fought more than once a year in a while. If he knew the Spence rematch wasn’t happening him and his team should have lined up another fight for 2023. Pushed Haymon and Spence for an earlier date and move on quicker if the rematch wasn’t on deck quickly.

If Bud wants big name, money fights, he can either go to 154 and fight someone like Danny Garcia or stay at 147 and wait for Teo to come up from 140.

Crawford has got to fight Ennis, move up in weight, or retire, Spence is out due to surgery, and he's going to be healing for 6 months or better, before he can fight.
