  • Comments Thread For: Team Beterbiev on Drug Testing Concerns Ahead of Smith Fight: 'What's Rich Is This is Coming From Eddie Hearn'

The trainer of Artur Beterbiev has scoffed at what he feels are hypocritical comments from promoter Eddie Hearn. A minor controversy arose earlier this week when it was revealed that Beterbiev, the unified light heavyweight champion, had elevated levels of HGH and testosterone in his blood and urine from tests administered by Voluntary-Anti-Doping Association in mid-December.

The HGH and testosterone levels are either in normal range or they’re not. Isnt Beterbiev almost 40 years old. He shouldn’t have high levels of either.

          That's not an acceptable defense.

..especially if the levels were in normal range before previous fights. Should be easy enough to check.

If he fasted for 5 days - just water and bone broth say - to lose some weight back in December - that causes your HGH to increase 1200% - that's be atypical right?

Intermittent fasting (******), reduced water intake (cutting for a fight), HIGH intensity (his workouts) - Beterbiev is the perfect formula for high HGH and test levels before a fight. Do you see the independent labs releasing the concentrations? They don't want to be embarrassed and discredited by laymen because of Hearn's shenanigans. As I said there is no significance as in 460 (39 regular guy) vs 470 (beterbev which is atypical for his age group).

If you listen to his interviews, Beterbiev likes to test guys' punching power in early rounds with his high guard, he did it with Browne, J Smith, and Yarde. Get him off his game and maybe he rushes in and Lame Smith catches him cold with a left hook.

The first fighter I've seen turn a 50 lb barbell as a part of his training routine and that would include the confirmed drug addicts.
