Comments Thread For: Ngannou: Joshua Knows What To Expect, I'll Need More To Get The Job Done
MMA veteran Francis Ngannou will push for a future rematch with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury - and it doesn't matter if Fury is successful in his upcoming assignment.

I think Fury was shocked by the sheer strength of the natural 270 conan story sand mine Ngannou & i think the juiced to 250 Aj will feel the same.
Aj should though be able to go into Ruiz 2 mode & just stick & move on the bigger Ngannou, I'd be surprised though if he stops him.
Ngannou has 2 choices, walk Aj down preasure him & make it rough or wait for the counter & as we've seen now he started with boxing first & is perfectly capable & unlike sparring partner Wallin, Ngannou won't flinch & will fire back with the hardest punch ever recorded.
Ngannou will force a knockout on himself. This style match up makes it impossible for him to coast and fight a slow paced fight the damage of Joshua’s power will cut his batteries further more .
I think Joshua in 5 and that’s only giving benefit of the doubt of Ngannous abilities to take very powerful shots the question is how many will he take before he folds ? Joshua won’t toy with him he’s going to look to get him out of there .
With Parker nullifying an opponent that gave Fury his biggest wins with consummate ease and Joshua annihilating Wallin in the fashion he did, this Joshua fight with Ngannou could totally destroy the Fury narrative that's built up over the last 5 or so years if AJ does an impressive job on him. Fury really needs to beat Usyk.

I have seen a lot of people saying this AJ will be shocked by the strength as well. Will he?
I don't think him and especially Ben Davidson will be shocked by Ngannous strength I mean Ben has trained Fury so he knows fury is a strong fighter and that he had issues with Ngannous physical strength.
AJ has never been a guy who wrestles or mauls up close (when frankly sometimes he should), but that's not and has never been his gameplan and he won't try it here.
One of Ngannous keys to success vs Fury was that he stopped fury from mauling, But AJ doesn't do that anyway so it's a non issue in this fight.
I do think this is a competetive fight but the more I've thought about it the more I see AJ doing a decent job, Ngannous feet are extremely slow and he doesn't move his head. AJ knows what's coming he won't be caught completley off guard like Fury was, and more to the point I think AJ has the better style to take care of Ngannou.
Now Ngannou definatley has the power that if AJ gets over confident he can take AJ out, but I feel like accumulation will eventually do for the big fella, see Jarrell Miller vs Dubois or Zhang vs Joyce, you hit one of those Easter island stone heads enough times and the ref will eventually say no more and that's what I see happening here.
Fury doesn't hit half as hard as AJ does in fact fury is a light puncher for a world level heavyweight, AJ has concussive one punch power and I don't think any fighter can afford to take that power too often including Ngannou who I do think has an excellent chin.

Very accurate comments.
Also, Fury has the stamina, but AJ is obviously stronger. He squats near 200kg, while Fury has chicken legs. Anyone who's lifted heavy will know the difference that could make, but I agree that it probably won't be a factor as AJ will seek to use his technique, speed and explosiveness.
Joshua will jab and move to a boring points decision.
If Ngannou is smart he take Ruiz's gameplan and run with it. The difference being he has legs and isn't fat so can closes the distance.
I don't know why everyone is talking confidently about Joshua's technique though. he's had 3-4 trainers the last few years all giving him different advice, he hasn't had the time or experience to master these different techniques.
I think Joshua will win but if Nganna sparks him out I won't be suprised. Joshua doesn't have Fury's legs if he wants to run.........
