Big fan of Beterbiev, but anyone who's used steroids before themselves (and thus knows what to look for) would know he's been one of the most obvious cases in the sport for a long time. I'm talking since the amateurs and certainly all throughout his pro career. I'm not suggesting that's where all his power comes from - if it was, many fighters would hit that hard - but it definitely doesn't hurt.
I'm still surprised he was caught (though technically he wasn't anyway since it's not an 'adverse finding'). Drug testing in boxing is next to useless against anyone who isn't half-assing it.Comment

I have a slightly different take I think it's down to genetics and here is a study that shows some regions of Russia have men with more naturally occurring high test levels here it is for anyone interested.
"Around 2012, the region with the highest testosterone we’ve seen is Chita, Russia, where the men at an average age of 34 have testosterone levels of 1022 ng/dl!"

Is Beterbiev from Chita? Or is he just a cheat-a?I have a slightly different take I think it's down to genetics and here is a study that shows some regions of Russia have men with more naturally occurring high test levels here it is for anyone interested.
