Fat Dan wrote after the bud fight

"Beaten champions are usually great at making excuses and finding alibis to explain away a defeat. Blame everything and everyone but themselves. But not Errol Spence Jr."

might want to reassess that one Dan

Did he feel OK when the fight began?

“I felt cool,” Spence said. “I thought I definitely could do enough to win the fight but I felt good. I’m not here to make any excuses.”

He was asked if the swelling around his eyes early in the bout had perhaps hampered his vision and could have been to blame for the poor performance.

Again, the self-anointed “Big Fish” wouldn’t take the bait.

“I didn’t have difficulty seeing at all,” Spence said.

      LOL

So how long is this going to delay the rematch now, the rematch that nobody really wants to see?

Errol doesn't need excuses. He trained hard, came in shape and did his best for a guy who was a heavy drinker who was thrown from a vehicle at over 100 mph, and who had retina eye surgery b4, and was hit from behind by another vehicle b4. Errol from the time he fought Chris Algieri (early 2016), to the Shawn Porter fight in late 2019 (just b4 the accident), was not the exact same guy who came back after the accident, even though he beat Danny Garcia and Ugas. He had slipped some and didn't have the same speed and explosiveness as b4. His reflexes were slower too. The 2016-2019 Errol would have been more competitive. Not saying he ever would've beat Bud, but it would've been a better fight. I had a car accident in 2005 and I walked out of the vehicle like nothing. I was in wonderful shape, so I thought i was fine, but when that happens, ur not fine. That sh..t shakes u up and messes u up and takes a lot of from u physically over time. There's no way that accident didn"t take a lot from Errol physically. He's an elite athlete, so fans may not notice it, but he is not the same, no matter what he says. On top of that, now Bud also has taken a lot out of him, so he's likely never going to reach his 2016-2019 level again. He's sure stubborn enough to try though, and that means he'll still be dangerous, but Bud beats him again, maybe worse next time. I think Errol is having a hard time accepting that he's just not the same fighter anymore. He can train hard, but he's not going to get any faster and his reflexes won't increase. He can't undo the damage his body, eyes, & brain has already been through and become the unstoppable force he once was. He can look unstoppable until he starts getting hit hard in his head and body and then he'll fade faster than b4 the accident. He'll get hurt faster. And he'll go to sleep

Apparently, it takes 4-8 weeks to recover from cataract surgery. Probably on the high end or longer for a boxer. Basically, as long or longer than a normal training camp. So, hopefully, Bud's team can move on from an immediate rematch with Spence. That would give them both an acceptable "out". I'd love to see Bud and Tszyu fight in Vegas in March. A fight against Jermell would be welcome, too. A belt in a 4th weight class is legacy making. Unless he fights Canelo next (I hope he doesn't), what other legacy fights are available to him at this point?
