Wouldn't surprise me if Hrgovic has thrown a spanner in the works, knows his worth and wants 20 mil plus a rematch clause to fight AJ for another 20 mil.
A-side wouldnt want that and Hearn couldn't guarantee the purse without Saudi money.
The problem is the Sauds don't need matchroom to promote their "potential" fight and couldn't give a toss about it being for a trash belt with no name Hrgovic.
I could definitely see an eliminator between AJ v Zhang and Parker v Hrgovic on the same bill with the winners facing off for whatever belts are up for grabs after Fury Usyk 2.
Its not a given the IBF strap will get stripped after Fury Usyk unify. And if either or both retire undefeated after Feb then all the belts are in play for the winner of AJ/ Zhang and Parker/Hrgovic to tussle for.
The real rivalry is between Fast Eddie and Fisheyes to see who can suck up to the Sauds more...IMHO
But hey, I DKSAB...lol

AJ does not want to be dragged into deep waters before a trash belt becomes available.
The optics wouldn't suit the narrative.Last edited by joe strong; 01-04-2024, 08:31 PM.

Who wants to see A-Side on his bike for a 12 round pitty pat exhibition like Ruiz 2 ?
Probably not the Sauds.

Do you think A-side really wants that smoke in a 12 round "exhibition" that does nothing to get him closer to 3 time paper champ with a trash IBF belt ?Bob likes this.

The Joshua vs Hergovic fight is as boring as they come. Hergovic was paid to fight a pizza delivery driver his last fight. After the Zhang fight, Hergovic has been matched very very carefully. As Hearn himself admitted, Wilder is a shot fighter and Wallin just showed up to pick up his check.
What I find most amazing, is Hearn and Warren being friends again. What people just don’t understand is the fact that Hearn and Warren only interest here is loading their pockets with millions of dollars for doing absolutely nothing. I often wonder when elite fighters are going to wake up and realize that promoters are just people who pick their pockets and do NOTHING of value for the millions they take.
Maybe the Saudis are too dumb to figure out that with the blood money their paying, they should have only the fights than the public want before the expiration date comes which is usually the case.
Amazon Prime couldn’t figure that out snd are going down the same rat hole that ended HBO and Showtime. The Saudi’s are even dumber than Amazon, blood money or not.
