Amazing that fighting a guy ranked as champion somewhere other than your own division, say, two divisions down, is considered equal to fighting one in your own division. Big flaw in the formula IMO. Should be question marks on questionable performances too. Really shows how hard it is to make rankings objective.

If I read it right its not equal. It sounds like you lose pts out of the total for fighting smaller guys & gain pts on the total for fighting bigger guys.
