    165
    175

    Nice and simple.

You could just do amateur divisions if you want to change ALL of the weights. Or just go back to the original 8 divisions

The original eight divisions is fine. All the rest is corruption.

****, keep the 16 divisions, but only have 2 orgs do 8 each and HW

          WBC/WBA - 105, 112, 118, 126, 135, 147, 160, 175, HW
          IBF/WBO - 108, 115, 122, 130, 140, 165, 168, 190. HW

The bigger problem to me is the amount of titles, not the amount of weight classes. 70's and 80's had fantastic fights in all the divisons, but there were only 2 belts. These days you can be a 3 division champ fighting for nothing but vacant belts, and defending against bottom 10 guys.

Benavidez and Morrell wouldn't be fighting at 160 though, they'd be at 175..

If it was a choice between 160 and 175, I think he could make 160 if he really had to. Either that or he would just fight at his own "Canelo-weight" like before. He doesn't need the belts at this point.

Because I have eyes, he isn't huge built look how small he looked in the fight against Smith.

Its like saying Pac couldn't make 140 or 135 when he was fighting at 147, yes he could have and yes Canelo can fight at 160 but why bother cut the 8lbs since he holds all of the cards?

At this point any reduction in titles is a positive step. Of course, here we are welcoming a new weight class and title. So I guess I'm not seeing much improvement although I do give the sport credit in the past few years for so many unifications. That has cut down on the number of paper champions that would have been. There would have been at least a dozen more Charles Martins without the unifications.

Nah, 15lbs is a pretty big gap between 160 & 175 at this point.

There's other weight classes like 105 & 115 that are more useless because there's so few grown men in the world who are

Also, Bridgerweight is wayy more irrelevant.

168 is right in the range of where the average athletic man around the world is.

That's why some of the best fighters of the past 40 years like Roy Jones, Andre Ward, Joe Calzaghe & Canelo Alvarez have called that division home.

160 and 175 would be deeper divisions, fewer places for Canelo to allegedly hide. Being "undisputed" in a deeper division would mean more meaningful mandatories arising.

Yes, the WBOgus would potentially have remained a problem in Calzaghe's time but there at least would have been one fewer of them without a 168lb division.
