The shot Ruiz caught him with was one of the worst shots a boxer can take....it was an equilibrium shot. AJ has a good chin, always has. When Ruiz hit him he was confused and could not recover. You could see he was shocked.

It would have been better if Ruiz had knocked him cold. Guys bounce back from those shots most of the time. AJ has been fighting with the fear of feeling that equilbrium shot again. He appears to have built his confidence back up under this training situation. Wallin, or anyone, could hit Joshua with that shot. He is showing signs of not being concerned about it. A mentally and physically healthy AJ gives Fury problems. He could KO Fury.

Wilder has always been a huge hypejob. He cannot box. He has one weapon, and any decent boxer will nullify it. Fury got careless against Wilder because he realized the guy cannot box whatsoever and so he took silly risks. Wilder sucks. Any fighter with a skill set will move away from his right and take it away from him. He is an easy win. He just fought reaallly ****ty fighters for most of his career.
Very well said. Someone in Wilder's corner should be honest with him and tell him to call it a day. Wilder was never really good in the first place. Boxers like Ali, Leonard, Holyfield, Lewis and other great fighters came back from their losses with a vengance. Wilder isn't built that way because he was never a real fighter in the first place. He has been exposed and doesn't know his way back. Hiring Malik Scott as a trainer was the worst decision he ever made for his career.

How is AJ in a better place? We agree, getting beat is bad and then you tell me what AJ did before he got beat? Eddy bought him Fury's trash v lottery winners. He's in the same shape, believe me.

Wilder was a shot fighter after his first fight with Fury. In both the rematch and the trilogy, Wilder’s legs were gone by the 3rd round. Maybe that could have been because of the added muscle. For this fight against Parker I knew by watching the weigh in that he would have a bad performance. Did you see his legs??? He lost too much weight to be a 38 year old fighter. Although he’s had a very good career and made a lot of money, I don’t think he’s ever had the right team in his corner. His weight management has been terrible and no none has ever taught him the basic fundamentals of the sport. It’s time to retire before he gets seriously hurt!

Finally, somebody with some common sense.

Carl Froch is usually right and he's right this time, too.

Too many Brits & AJ stans acting like the Fury fights, age, and inactivity have nothing to do with the performance we saw out of Wilder on Saturday.

We know what the prime version of him looked like and that wasn't it.

What did a prime Wilder look like? he could never fight, his boxing got worse and he never fought anyone? He had the klitschko fight in his hands and ran with the baby heavyweight speech. What fight should people give him credit for ? Owen Beck 23 fights in lost his last six ? Harold Sconiers who dropped him ?

I see Wilder is 17th on boxrec now that just looks at raw figures and takes the emotion out of it,

He looked skinny and old, aged about 3-4 years in 1 year. That will happen if you don't fight for 14 months at the age of 37 and just take a load of drugs.

His legs were so thin it looked like they could barely hold up his 175lbs torso.

Wilder was part of a fantastic trilogy that will live on in boxing history. Sure, it wasn't all sweet science, but knock 'em down and out brawls.

He really took a lot of punishment in the second and third fight. That would affect any human being.

Plain and simple, Wilder lost his desire to fight. Whatever retreat he went on has mellowed him out. He never tried vs Parker. It is what it is.

Father Time waits for no one
Parker did what he had to and Wilder didn’t come to perform
Fury or not , retirement should be his next fight

A prime Wilder was a guy with NBA athleticism and a rocket right hand.

A guy who was an Olympic Bronze medalist, so he apparently was skilled enough for that.

A guy the late-great Emmanuel Steward said would rule the HW division along with Tyson Fury.

Nobody ever said he was Willie Pep, but he was tall, long, fast, quick, and had one of the quickest triggers in boxing to go with that exterme power that guys who sparred with him like Richard Tower & David Haye said was much more powerful than Joshua & both the Klitschko brothers.

You don't always have to have a lot of boxing skill to do well, just like at Francis Ngannou's fight against Tyson Fury.
