If that's the case, bud shouldn't need 5 years in a division before proving he's no1 in it. And waiting for opponent to have a unfortunate accident in automobile? This doesn't even make any sense. Crawford was calling for a Spence fight for years before it happened. All Spence would say was it wasn't up to him and that Crawford was on the "wrong side of the street". Not sure whether to blame Spence or PBC. But the outcome would have been the same. Bud is just a far better fighter. SPence beat Garcia and Ugas post car wreck. He tried against Bud but Bud was catching him inbetween shots, and Derrick James had no fall back. Once Spence got hurt and knocked down the first time, it was over. Spence had no idea what to do do, he was always just really good at the basics. Bud is special. And Bud said he had a hell of a time making 147 as well, he walks around like 180 at this point.
