Hurd didn’t beat Lara the first time, dude should have never been called a champion. Would like to see Lara get some get back.

LOL yea its bleak. This has gotta be among the worst times in a long time for the MW division.

With Elijah Garcia on the rise & if some of the 154 guys move up it could get more fun quick, but its awful right now.

I'm a fan of Hurd since he represents the DMV and always seemed like a decent dude. He's lost 3 of his last 5 and looks completely shot.

Early on in his career he was more of a boxer but transitioned to that pressure fighter style as he moved up in competition. He was successful at it but at a steep cost; as he got older he couldn't boil down to junior middleweight anymore.

His style doesn't age well, I wish him luck in his career but more importantly good health. Not sure he will have either.

He beat Lara fair and square, even dropped him.

And that's the only round he should have won. He was soundly out-boxed.

Jarrett hurd gets hit in the face way too much, but his stance is like that of a slick fighter with the shoulder roll and counterpunching. He needs to spend some extensive time in the gym learning from James Toney, so he can tighten his game up. Toney can show him very clearly why he gets hit so damn much and exactly how to fix his defensive flaws

Lara to this day has never been decisively beaten, shame he can't seem to get quality opponents in there with him, even with the WBA title.

Who knows if the fight with Garcia will ever happen.
