If this goes 12 I'd be more surprised than if Parker won by KO.

With Parker getting tips from Fury I expect the move will be to be aggressive & try to get Deontay on the back foot where Fury had most of his success in the 2nd & 3rd fights. And that'll likely lead to a KO imo. And more likely Parker being the one KO'd. I don't think Parker is defensively responsible enough to avoid getting touched by Deontay all night if he tries to outbox him. I think it'll work for awhile but one of Deontay's advantages is his quickness & athleticism.

There's a classic kiwi saying that goes...yeah nah.

Yeah i hear what you're saying, but nah you got it all wrong.

I can't see Parker going the Fury route. It's just never been him.

But I think he can outbox and hurt him still.

Wilder's always got a puncher's chance. It's all he ever had any time he fought someone slightly capable. It's hard to believe that puncher's chance hasn't reduced over the last few years. He's an old and inactive fighter now.

Parker came in heavy and tried the Fury route against Joyce. The dubious game plan and extra weight lost him the fight when he gassed late but it showed Parker was prepared to sit down on his shots when he let his hands go. And he's just come off a choice knockout by an uppercut in his last fight.

It's not something he's comfortable doing of late but if that's the Andy Lee game plan, that's what Joe will do and stick to with unwavering determination.

We all know Wilder will be headhunting from the opening bell and looking to windmill his way to an early victory. I believe Parker will be too.

Should make for great entertainment as no one wants to see a 12 round snoozefest where the later rounds consist of 2 gassed warriors trading pitty pats and playing rope a dope hoping for one last hail mary in the championship rounds.

While this could happen, I think it's highly unlikely. For Parker to land in combination, he's going to have to stand in front of Deontay Wilder. History has proven, this is not a good idea.

When closing the distance with Deontay Wilder, a fighter must proceed with *extreme* caution.

True. I just can't see what else Fury would tell him then get Deontay on his backfoot since its felt like a cheat code to beat Deontay for Fury.

Their HW's so obv anyone can hurt anyone & lesser guys than Parker have outboxed Deontay, but not for 36mins. Unless Deontay is legit shot he's gonna touch Parker & I got lil faith in Parker recovering once he's touched.

I believe Deontay's athleticism is an underrated part of his success in finding that shot that sleeps guys & even if its diminished I think its still above avg.

Are you saying Fury has a better chin than Parker ?

Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't but he really has no choice.

As good a dancer as Parker is he cant dance his way to a victory against Wilder.

History will either be proven right or not...

I got more faith in Fury getting up & winning after getting dropped than I do Parker.

This is exactly it. And for those suggesting that Parker should follow Fury's blueprint, and try and back Wilder up, I feel that would be unwise as well. Fury can absorb Wilder's firepower a lot better than Parker, because Fury is 40-50lbs heavier than Parker.

Parker might be able to absorb the right hand once or twice, but after that, it's lights out.
