  • Comments Thread For: Will Joshua-Wilder Really Happen?

By Cliff Rold - The caveat is all that really matters. For the better part of five or six years, a showdown between 34-year old two-time former IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight titlist Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KO) and 38-year old former WBC titlist Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KO) has been there. As an option. As a possibility.

I don't think Joshua really wants it (or anyone with a pulse), but I am starting to think that the Saudis tempted both men financially, so hopefully, we will see it in 2024.

And Merry Christmas to you too, Cliff. We all need a really good one across the world. Reading concise and competent writing about our favorite sport definitely helps in distracting us from the global ugliness, if only for a few minutes. Thanks.

There seems real momentum for the fight which is great but really these two should be fighting against each other in the UK or the US not in sterile SA.

Wilder wants it because there is only Ruiz with a 1 million guarantee on Amazon Prime.

Jezzzzz what a joke ......the first nine of ten write ups (today) are a bout fights that have not happened are not signed have nothing to with reality and yet that is all boxing writers have to talk about .... Will it happen wont it happen what will happen if it does happen. And you wonder why boxing is not a main stream sport, the only way to sell it is to try and make people fantisize about what might be what could have been what would it be like. There used to be fights to talk about that actually happened on a regular schedule .

                  I hope it never happens.
The one, who made the Alabama idiot turn down that 100/120M DAZN deal by whispering "training camp money" into his ear, should now fill what's missing in his retirement fund.
Can't believe Wallin and Parker are the last in the position to serve justice to crooks.

I think this fight happens if both boxers handle their business this Saturday. However, when they meet, someone's career will be on the line. Depending on how that fighter loses, the loser's run at or near the top will be just about over.
