Sena is probably David M's best opp & he was ranked like 30 something on boxrec at the time they fought. We are going on & on with this, but anyone being reasonable has no argument there is a MASSIVE GAP between Sena level guys & David B & Alvarez. David M needs to fight some better guys to up his exp & not just get thrown into the deep end of the pool. That makes it a lose lose for those guys he wants to fight as well. If Alvarez & David B beat David M ppl will just say well of course they did David M had fought no one, his best W was over Sena ffs. David M's team needs to move him up in levels & theres at least a couple levels between the guys he's beaten with guys who've fought for belts, guys who've won belts & top ten guys he's not fought at all yet & the biggest fights to make at 168 in a year or two.
First, you mentioned ranking and that's why I brought that up, 2nd, I agreed the gap in talent and I have never questioned it. We just have a different opinion on how he have to get to the top. One thing for sure, I don’t want to see this kid beating no hopers for the next 10 years and the division is garbage, has mbilli beat anyone of note? Or are we just going by eye test? Who is at the top of the class?

      Morrell smokes both of them.

The only real challenge for Morrell at that weight that doesn't include mentioning the cash cow of boxing is Benavidez.

The problem I see is canelo holding the division hostage. That's why I'd love to see benavidez vs canelo next. He has a regular belt, I don't heard anyone challenge him, so he have to move up for better or worse.
He's got an amazing resume for ten fights, as I've said a few times now, he's got a meh resume for a top 5 guy tho.

He's not sitting at the promising prospect/fringe contender table anymore. He's at the top 5 guy table now & his resume isn't as sexy looking for a top 5 guy.

Mbilli has beat a top ten guy (Gongora), which again David M has not done. Most indie rankings got him above David M.

David M is beating no hope guys NOW tho. It makes no sense you want this dude to fight no hope guys or David B or Alvarez lol. There's a ton of guys between Sena (his best W imo) & the top 2 guys. If I wasn't impressed with David M myself I'd probably be suggesting you are scared he gets beat when he steps up vs top ten guys. I don't get at all why you don't wanna see David M fighting better guys as he waits for the Alvarez vs David B winner.

You see, you first sentence has "ranking", and you don't belive in that, so 10th ranked is higher than the #1 & #2 Morrell Jr beat? Or is it because gongora is a world beater? It's okay for two people to disagree, you want him to take the longest path, but he already chose the shorter one, and I just happen to agreed. At the end of the day they're going to map his path we don't have a say in the matter.

Belt rankings are bs. Indie rankings are the only rankings fans should gaf about. A #1 belt ranked guy might be the #28th ranked guy on boxrec & unraked by TBRB, Ring & the other belt groups. They are horrible. Randomly who was the #1 & #2 belt ranked guys David M fought? Sena is one of his best opps if not his best & he was #30 something on boxrec & unranked by indie rankings.

Gongora was top 5 in indie rankings iirc when Mbilli beat him. Again David M hasn't fought anyone in the top ten of indie rankings. His resume is great for ten fights, but poor for a top 5 indie ranked guy.

I want David M to fight more legit guys instead of Sena's & Aidos'. HE'S taking the longer path after a fast start. His pace isn't keeping up with how he started. He's lingering with these guys he's proven he's better than 3 or 4 fights ago & isn't even fighting guys who've lost belt fights before. Dude shoulda fought a Dirrell or Uzi level guy already with how he started his career. Its like his team doesn't have faith in him or something. Idk tbh, but they should be moving him up to better opps.

I'm not going to argue with anyone about rankings, gongora is nothing to be proud about and mbilli has faced bs competition too, actually mbilli has almost triple Morell's jr fight and the winning % of those he has face is about 70% compare to the Cuban 90%, so please, none of them has faced a real name but if going by resume DMJ is ahead of the game. Do you math, by the way ESPN has Morell jr at #3 behind ginger and benavidez, and mbilli hasn't fought anyone ranked by the WBA.

I'm not proud or mad about Gongora. I'm saying he was a top 5 guy. I got no dog in the fight minus reality being reality. And again David M hasn't fought a top ten guy let alone top 5 guy & he's not fought even a top 20 guy on boxrec. I'd pick David M to beat Mbilii all day, but Mbilli has the better W's. It is what it is.

The WBA is sucks, but all belt groups suck & are corrupt. They are just in the sport to get their 3% fee of boxers purses. Again the belt rankings are the worst rankings of any rankings. I trust boxrec more than belt groups. Believe William Scull is #1 by one of these 168 belt groups & his best W is Evgeny Shvedenko. The WBA gots Padraig Mccrory #3 & his best W is Marco Periban ffs.

Either way David M needs to up his game & tell his team to not be fearful of putting him in deeper waters. He's not gonna get better fighting these no hope guys who never did anything over & over & over again. And he's got a year til he's likely to fight David B or Alvarez so he needs to use that time more wisely than fighting another Sena level guy.

We all know they have no fear to put this kid against anyone. If no name steps up, he should be fighting every three months. His time will come.

I think David M would fight anyone. He's team isn't moving him like they feel he's ready for anyone.
