I agreed with that too, the problem I have is with the fighters they're suggesting he should fight, direll, uzcategui, WTF? Bring lalonde too. The fact of the matter is he is already canelo's mandatory for the WBA and the regular champion for the same organization, whatever that means, there's no going back only forward, people can cry all they want but it is what it is.

He will beat those guys up badly just like he's done to fighters people deem as C-tier. If they bother accepting of course.

Morrell hasn’t fought anybody and has no name. Benavidez is coming off destroying Plant and Andrade.

Why fight Morrell who will probably fold under pressure like all Cuban pros?

I love boxing so I can’t completely stay away from discussion but some of y’all are beyond ridiculous.

Step backwards? From who? Mention one fighter in benavidez resume that Morrell Jr couldn't beat, and viceversa there's no one in the Cuban resume that jose couldn't beat. Who's left?

He didn't destroyed plant and andrade is a fat and old 154 pounder, I'm not going to reply to the other nonsense because you don't know what pressure is.

He has someone on you his ass asking him for a fight. Now HE is looking like a duck.

Morrell is the WBA REGULAR Champion, how the *** is he undeserving?

                They are both the same.

I wasn’t saying Morrell was undeserving, I was saying the guys canelo has been picking at 168 are. Benavidez earned a fight with him and canelo continues to look elsewhere. There’s no karma in that scenario ans if Benavidez has done something wrong. And yeah, Morrell is wba regular champ, seems like he should be lined up to fight canelo too. They’re who canelo should be looking at, not a jmw, not a 40 yr old mw, not a C class Brit and definitely not Munguia or the depressed alcoholic charlo. Why aren’t either options for May? I think we know the answer.

I swear the fanboys on here. Just cause YOU like a certain fighter or dislike a certain fighter, it has zero bearing on reality. I love watching Benavidez, and I love watching Morrell. After watching boxing for 40 years, I can tell you this.....Benavidez has beaten far better fighters and he has a hard style for any fighter to deal with, and it will make a difference once they get into the ring.

Morrell does whatever he wants against bad fighters. He is talented. And that wouldn't mean alot against Benavidez. The dude has a great chin, thudding power and sneaky good defense. Morrell would have some success, but Benavidez will wear him down. And Morrell will get beat up, badly. Can he win? Sure he can. The funny thing is, to sit here and watch Benavidez beat Plant to a pulp and beat Andrade down like he was an amateur....but in your heads, Morrell is, like, the best fighter ever because he beats up B level comp.

I believe Benavidez probably stops him. Could be wrong. Maybe Morrell hurts and stops Benavidez. But there is no comparison in the comp level, and Benavidez may be looking at a life changing payday and a belt if Canelo finally fights him. And people still saying Benavidez should fight Morrell? I get liking fighters, but common sense goes out the window with some people. Let Morrell fight a couple guys with a high skill level, as Benavidez has been doing.

This could well end up with Benavidez and Morrell fighting for a belt sooner than later. The fight could be huge if Morrell fought a bigger name or two.

                      Awesome post and self explanatory
This is the same situation between Crawford and Ennis
