  • Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia: I've Advised My Team To Contact Haney To Discuss And Make The Fight Happen

Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney are back on each other's radar. Both boxers have confirmed that talks have begun for a super fight between two of the brightest young talents in the sport. Garcia (24-1, 20KOs) is keen on winning a major title in the 140-pound division and has now set his sights on the WBC title recently acquired by Haney (31-0, 15KOs) in a tour-de-force performance versus Regis Prograis earlier this month.

Ryan's not in Haney's league. Haney would embarass him. Not a Haney fanboy, but it wouldn't be close.

Both guys should make decent coin though.

I'm no fan of his but at least he's attempting to make big fights.

When the fight fails to happen, we gonna hear Garcia throw GBP under the buss blame then for ducking

Ryan thought Tank was a big hitter ?
Wait until he gets hit by a 165 pounder
Hope nothing breaks out in the stands
Oh wait , that one’d been used already

I don't know about this take..

Ryan is younger than the guys Haney has been beating, and Ryan is a much better fighter at 140. This fight could even take place at 147.

It'd be a dangerous fight for Haney, because a loss would prevent him from fighting Tank, who Haney would fair better against.

Haney vs Garcia would be an interesting fight, nonetheless.

Ryan cashing out early in the sport ? You'd think he'd have a few more fights with his new trainer to get improved for Haney/Teo but at least he's having a crack and will fight these guys as pretty heavy underdog

I guess I feel different then all you guys. I'm glad both of them seem to be stepping up to the plate. I think Haley will take it, but anything can happen when you lace up the gloves. That's why we love this sport.

It seems like many boxers now talk too much and fight too little. I know a lot of it is selling the fights, but how is it promoting when all the talk happens but the fight never does?

I expect a Mayweather - Corrales style beatdown. After which we can hopefully get our Haney - Tank fight.

Out of the other champs(not counting Rolly)this is 100% Ryan's best shot.

He gets destroyed by Teo and Matias badly but Haney has no power and a weak chin. He'll lose rds but has 12 to land that shot and if it does Haney will go night night.
