Probably all comes down to profit margins/potential economic growth. Would they drive more economic development from adopting a UFC model or by continuing with their current model. I have no idea tbh, but the Saudi’s definitely have the financial infrastructure to make something like this work IMO.

With no titles on the line, the Saudis arent paying any fees to any of the Alphabet Orgs so rankings for all fighters are meaningless.

Basically do what they did to Golf with LIV and force other boxers to give up on the present Alphabet Orgs and become exclusively Saudi promoted fighter's fighting for exclusively Saudi money, organizations and belts .

They’re basically doing that with DAZN , as soon as Fury is out of the picture DAZN could theoretically have Hearn use the UFC ranking formula something he’s been interested in ,I think this event is the starting point of something like that . I think they wait and see what the numbers are . Right now I think Hearn is just playing nice but down the line I think he takes full control of these type of events .

I believe Skills Challenge, the recent previous Saudi iteration signed Usyk and Wilder and Fast Eddie to contracts and promotional deals before the real money man, Turki Al-Sheikh, decided to cut out the middlemen and act directly for the Saudi governments best financial interests.

Now everyone, promoters, fighters and the alphabet orgs are licking windows on the outside looking in.

So you gotta think Turki and Bonesaw Bin Salman are looking to monopolize the heavyweight division under one Saudi controlled global sporting body that has the money, power and reach to disrupt the old power elites of the boxing game and send them into irrelevancy.

Sports washing and blood money be damned.

Money is money to a prizefighter. Boxers will go where the money is and screw loyalty to an org that requires a tithe and a fee to claw their way up some BS rankings for a shot at a belt that only signifies 1 quarter of a unified world championship.

The Saudis don't need Hearn. They've already thrown him under the bus once.

The Sauds could buy DAZN and install any muppet to run it for Bonaesaw and Turki.

They could because they don't need money from the fights PPV or gate, they have incalculable wealthy and don't need a financial return at all. They spend money on athletes and entertainment like water presently. They don't need sanctioning fees and can create a league where the fighters would sign up because they will be over paid. The only problem is rankings, it will be at the behest of the Saudi Royal family and no one gets a say. If they control the game then they could if they wanted change the Queensbury rules to Riyadh rules of boxing.

You know what, fine I'm all for it, it would be better than what we have now.
