  • Sixteen man heavyweight tournament for all the marbles

Jeff Bezos decides to spend half a billion of his hundreds of billions on a boxing supertournament.
It's a sixteen man tournament and the first round comprises eight fights, single eliminination - lose and you're out.
Names are drawn from a hat, and that is the order in which they will fight and enter the ring. No egos, no bs, fate decides all of this.
First round all winners are paid $15m, loser get $5M and go home = $160M spent
Names go in the hat again and the draw is made. Fights are three months later.
Second round winners get $20M and losers get $10M = another $100M for a total of $260M spent
Names go in the hat (there are only four left now)
    Winners $30M losers $10M = another $80M spent and now we've used up $340M of Jeff's billion
The final fight winner gets $100M and loser gets $40M = Total $500M spent.

Who are your sixteen fighters. Mine are below, some are included because they're obviously top guys deserving of being in it, some are a bit out of interest (Hughie Fury lol) just to see wassup.

joshua wilder usyk fury makmudhov, zhiang dubois, anderson, sanchez. ajagba miller H.Fury Hrgovic Ruiz Parker joyce

There aren't even 8 good fighters in the division. 16 is a huge waste of time.

I disagree. Years ago, a loss or two didn't mean a fighter was "no good". They fought again and they did so more frequently. Fury has hardly tested himself, and running a gauntlet of fighters like these would absolutely test him.

        Joshua , Hrgovic, Joyce , Zhang , Wilder , Ajagba , Mahkmudov, Ortiz , Parker , Anderson , Miller , Wallin, Ruiz , Martin , Bakole , Wardley .

I wouldn’t include Fury or Usyk both have belts and wouldn’t be put in a tournament setting .

I was gonna put Wardley in. This is a fantasy tournament so belts or not I want Fury and Usyk in there. Partly because I want to see Fury get smashed up by someone like Zhiang, Makhmudiv of Hrgovic. Can't stand the big fraud.

Fury wouldn’t go through with it you can’t even get him in a 4 man tournament remember everyone was on board but Fury he went out of his way to out right lie and say no such things were being discussed even though Warren said otherwise . A 16 man tournament would be to much pressure on him bc he would have no light touches and I never seen him voluntarily take tough fights back to back that’s why he chose Chisora and coming of a loss .

All true. I know Fraudy wouldn’t go near a tournament like this in a million years - but hypothetically, if you had the keys to the kingdom, who are your 16

This, but if a rich mfer was lighting money on fire I'd go with:

Top guys: Fury, AJ, Usyk, Wilder
2nd/3rd tier guys: Otto, Zhang, Filip, DDD, Parker, Frank, Efe, Joyce, Big Baby
                Undefeated prospects/fringe contenders: Jared, Arslanbek
                Novelty: Ngannou
