The unbeaten San Antonio native brilliantly neutralized one of the sport's defensive fighters in Sunny Edwards, whom he stopped after nine rounds. Rodriguez scored a knockdown in the closing seconds of the ninth and forced a corner stoppage in between rounds nine and ten to unify the IBF and WBO flyweight titles Saturday evening at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

I have similar feelings to Bam/Sunny that I did with Haney/Prograis. I like all four guys. I love Sunny as a boxing personality and think he has a future as a commentator, but a slickster with no power is a chore to watch. I'd very much prefer if Bam beats the brakes off Sunny. However, just like I felt Haney's pure boxing style would make Prograis look bad, I can see Sunny making Bam look bad too. It wouldn't surprise me if Bam needs a gift from the judges. At least Bam has a better chance than Prograis did.
