Instead of a TKO we got a RTD and Edwards clearly told his corner he was done, not a good look for someone who talked as much as he did but I give him credit he made the fight entertaining and fought bravely just not good enough at world level.

After rd 2 it seemed like Bam had found his rhythm and he just had to chip away until he broke him without any regard for the punches coming back but he can't do that against guys like Chocolatito and Estrada they might be older but they punch a lot harder and are much better inside fighters than Edwards. He ate a lot of unnecessary punches from Edwards he needs to fight smarter against the others but he definitely has the skills to beat anyone.

Firstly to claim Sunny quit is ridiculous. He held out until he had absolutely nothing left. His legs were gone, his ribs were bruised and battered and his face was a mess. He could've easily quit when he got knocked down on his face but he kept going. Anyone who thinks the fight should've continued is out of their mind or just want to see someone end up in a coma.
Secondly, Bam was very aware of the lack of power by Sunny and boxed accordingly. His performance was near perfect. Sure Sunny caught him with a few decent shots here and there but Bam knew he could walk through those punches to land his massive power shots. The game plan was to walk Sunny down using the jab and footwork, while going to the body to slown him down enough to get him on the ropes and tear him down later.

That's how a Champ ends inferior comp. Bam is special.

At least Sunny was an undefeated world title holder. I wonder when Tank is going to fight someone with similar accolades in the prime of their career?

Unfortunately I think Bam is a bit too far away with the years likely left before Inoue retires. He will also probably end his career with possibly a farewell 130 match but mostly at 126.

However a more likely matchup that may eventually come is Bam vs Nakatani at around 122. Currently Bam is 23 (turning 24 next month) moving on to 115, and Nakatani is 25 (turning 26 next month) moving on to 118 so they will continue to stay one division apart for possibly another 5-6 years to build up more highlights and resume. Suppose they stay in their next divisions for 2-3 years and get some more unifications, and both move up the same time to 122 (shortly after Inoue moves to 126) and 118. Then Nakatani can hopefully collect a belt or two from what was left from Inoue vacating, then solidify himself at 122. Bam gets a few more belts at 118 and when the time comes, goes up to 122 and they meet.

122 title bout between 30 years old Nakatani vs 28 years old Bam. Both 4 division champions that started at fly weight and both still in their prime. That will be juicy.

I don't see Inoue fighting at 130, maybe 126, still it's a risky jump. But yeah, agreed with everything else.

Damn that was a beatdown I gave Edwards 2 rds at most I figured he would cause problems with his movement for the first 4-5 rds and then Bam would pick up and start wearing him down with a late TKO. Wasn't the case at all must've given Edwards too much credit he has good footwork but no punch and his movement was neutralized by the way Bam can cut off the ring.

Great heart shown by sunny but there's only so far you can go when you can't stop a guy in his tracks

Rungvusai is arguably the hardest hitter around those weights and he couldn't dent Bam either...so far he's shown a granite chin.
