Everyone seems to forget that MJ broke his rear hand in the Rios fight. A hand injury to a boxer is crippling not just physically, but psychologically. It showed against the Tápales fight. MJ reserved to throwing his left hand and looked worried of injuring it once again. He showed the same hesitation again last night against Gonzales, but I think midway through the fight, something clicked and he seemed to overcome the fear of injuring the hand again. And all off a sudden, boom! MJ was back!!! He is back baby!

Gonzales was getting outclassed and losing every round to start off with. He wasn't throwing any punches. His trainer told him to start throwing because you can't win a fight if you don't throw punches. That's when he left openings for MJ to work with and stopped him. MJ looked good, Gonzalez started fighting reckless and paid the price. I thought MJ looked timid at first like he didn't want to throw his left but once he started letting it go he started doing damage he must've healed it up completely because he was using the MX gloves. Firstly to claim Sunny quit is ridiculous. He held out until he had absolutely nothing left. His legs were gone, his ribs were bruised and battered and his face was a mess. He could've easily quit when he got knocked down on his face but he kept going. Anyone who thinks the fight should've continued is out of their mind or just want to see someone end up in a coma.
Secondly, Bam was very aware of the lack of power by Sunny and boxed accordingly. His performance was near perfect. Sure Sunny caught him with a few decent shots here and there but Bam knew he could walk through those punches to land his massive power shots. The game plan was to walk Sunny down using the jab and footwork, while going to the body to slown him down enough to get him on the ropes and tear him down later.
