No one tells him who to fight and when. They are just lucky he lets them parade around their special titles at his events. Canelo is the cash cow with or without the WBC. If the Benavidez fight happens it’s because that’s what he wants next.
If no one tells Canelo who to fight, does that make the Bivol rematch a duck?

Nobody in a professional sport where millions of fans pay to see them, has earned the right to choose the weakest opponents. So the Yankees has earn the right to play the worst team in the WS? How about the Real Madrid? Can they choose Haiti to play for the World Cup. Gtfoh with those childish sentiments.

Is anyone surprised? These belt guys gotta go. They are fooking up the sport with these selective decisions that help some guys & hurt other guys. If a guy running a belt group isn't being all around fair boxers/fans/promoters/platforms/managers need to not give them an outlet to combat the corruption & bs they bring.

Did he at least wipe his chin of Canelo's jizz before he spoke?

Its not a sport until there is a league of some kinda like other sports, someone can have all of the belts and not really be the champion and someone could have no belts and be the champion. What kind of sport operates like that so yeah he can just pick and choose who he fights and doesn't have to fight anyone because he built his name and is the biggest draw in boxing currently so the sanctioning bodies won't strip him though they could.

That's bs, if he is not fighting the best he doesn't respect his fans nor himself. You can choose who you fight and keep fighting bums and old men, but you're not the best because you're not beating the best, he didn't build his name, his promoters and matchmakers did it for him with a pile of boxers way past their prime and old men's. Tell me who he has beat in their prime without handicapping them and no controversy? Look at you, you choose to follow a fake boxer and on top of that you support and condone those decisions of fighting 2nd and third tier boxers.

I'm not supporting or condoning it, just stating the way boxing is and the position we're in because of it and how it simply is not an actual sport the way other sports are.

At 168, BJS and Plant are solid wins but other than that yeah he should fight Benavidez and if he doesn't they'll be no consequences or stripping of undisputed championship status because they want their sanctioning fees.

And that's the ugly part of boxing, the corrupt alphabet soups organizations. The WBC almost got bankrupt back in the 90's with the Rochiggianis sued, and they keep fooling around. Agreed, solid not elite.

You mean the rematch Canelo’s team offered him in June for September and Bivol turned down?

I no longer care about titles, but boxers facing solid opponents. That is what will matter in history, not titles. So WBC sucks in principles differently (or maybe not) than the other sanctioning bodies.
