Some people just despise the man without taking into account his achievements in the sport. I saw the reception he got in Mexico against ryder it spoke volumes about his popularity.

Are you out of mind? That was last year in his very first fight with Shields. How many times are posting the same nonsense? What about now?

Obviously he has enough fans to sell out a stadium but the impression I get from the mexican community is that he is not as loved as other mexican legends of the past.

And it doesn’t matter how many professional fights he has. Once you become a world champion you lose the right to use that as an excuse.
Yes, it doesn't matter how many fights you have. What happened a couple of months ago that benavidez agreed and then back out of the fight? The ginger is a pu$$y only willing to fight old men or British do.estic level fighters. Who has he fought in his prime without handicapping him?

The whole México love JCC. It can be done. Roberto Duran is adored by Panamá. It can be done if you do what those two did.

Because Benavidez is young, in his prime, and bigger than him. He has never fought someone like that

Benavidez’s 2023 consisted of fighting Caleb Plant and Demetrius Andrade.

What does Morrell’s 2023 consist of? He really is in no position to be criticizing anyone about taking risks.

If they weren’t, his career wouldn’t be where it’s at today as his resume would be merely average to barely above average without those names.
What an excellent point that I never thought of.

Bivol was all of those things so was callum Smith. Yes he lost to bivol but he still took the fight that's my point. canelo doesn't exactly shy away from a challenge. I'd love to see the benavidez fight happen I think it's in play behind the scenes.

I give you plant, but if benavidez would have kept his word Morrell Jr would have fought him. So ask benavidez why did he fought a former 154/160 36yo fighter instead of his counterpart from the WBA. There's your answer. He fights whoever has de balls to sign the dotted lines.
