He mitigates risk. Fights guys at the right point in time. Most cash cow fighters do it tbf.

I think they’re hoping Benavidez becomes vulnerable making 168 limit, I doubt they fight him until he shows some sign on frailty. Canelo ain’t getting any younger though…

But i do sort of agree on Jermall. That guy's a wreck now and I'm not sure if the fight ever matters again.
I think (hope?) it does too. But it's kinda baffling why he's not talking it up. If it's as likely to happen as you think, he should be talking it up and building up Benavidez as much as possible to make it the biggest fight he can so it sells a million PPVs. But he's dumping cold water on it every chance he gets. Why do you think that is?

canelo has a history of ducking/waiting for guys to age/look bad. that is literally his MO. he uses weight as a crutch to hide behind constantly saying hes not really in that division but then jumps at the chance to fight a guy when he thinks the timing is right. lets break it down...

became middle champ but then said he was too small to fight ggg for years. even created his own fake division between 154 and 160 so that people would believe him. then he went and fought chavez jr at super middle oops that was too good to pass up! eventually fought ggg but years too late and avoided a third ggg fight until he was sure ggg wasnt a threat. he fought jacobs at 160 after the 2 ggg fights so a third would have been possible but he didnt want it.

fought fielding at 168 but didnt seem to want to fight callum smith, went back down to 160, then up to 175 to fight a shot kovalev. during this time smith should have lost to ryder. canelo senses his opportunity and pounces on a wounded callum smith.

fought kovalev at 175 but said he was too small for beterbiev, then thinks he can beat bivol who is not a big puncher so he goes back up to 175 to fight bivol. oops lost. didnt time that one right at all...

has been at 168 for 4+ years now and benavidez has been #1 for 4+ years now and still hasnt fought him even though hes managed to fight all these other tiny men, shot fighters, bums, etc...a bloated billy joe saunders who never fought a soul but not benavidez? charlo moving up 2 divisions but not benavidez? 40 year old ggg moving up but not benavidez? some guy named yildram but not benavidez?

thankfully 175 is closed off for canelo so he cant run there to duck anymore and going down in weight seems unlikely since he has been at 168 for so long. it would be funny to see canelo start saying im not really a 168 pound fighter...im a 165 pound fighter lol. looks like he has to take the fight but maybe he can demand drug testing or price himself out or something to kill it. there are always ways. maybe he says im too small for 168 and only fights at 171? what a weird person. hes so narcissistic he doesnt realize all these things make him look so silly. you arent the king if you cant even fight the best fighters in your division. a king doesnt fly around weight divisions ducking and dodging. he plants himself and says ok come after me. canelo says oh no you are coming after me im too small leave me aloneeeeeeee im the kingggggg

Kovalev without a rehydration clause and with more than a few weeks to recover from his fight with Yarde.

This and clearly ducking Benavidez. It's not even subtle.

He'll fight him within his next two fights as part of his PBC deal.

Throwing names in like Beterbiev is crazy. He never had to fight at 175.

I’m not sure. Depends on what Crawford does IMO.

The Charlos are garbage, what Canelo did to Jermell, he would've done to both of them at any weight class.
Andrade is "a horrible" fighter as Canelo put it, and a quitter.
Beterbiev and Bivol should've had a unification fight since 2018, but they get a pass, Canelo on the other hand, nah, let's give him sh.it for it.
Canelo's the cash cow of boxing and can fight anyone he wants.

Andrade had to wait until he was 35 for a big fight, just like GGG & Crawford did.

You don't know what Canelo would've done to The Charlos at 154 or 160 because the fights could've happened but never did because he didn't want them to

Beterbiev & Bivol should've fought anybody who had a belt at 175, which includes each other AND Canelo, who also held a belt at 175.
