Tank Davis not interested in fighting Devin Haney: 'NO! He is 140!'

Tank is all about the least risk... That's what he's about. If he wanted any of the best guys, the fights would be made. He just doesn't want to fight them I guessComment

Haney at 135 went to unify with Kambosos, did a required rematch with him, then beat Lomachenko. Then moves up to 140 and takes a belt off of Prograis in a 12-0 shutout, something Josh Taylor couldn't come close to doing.
Right now, Haney's resume is superior to Tank's. Period.
But before Haney unified, he had NO drawing power and wasn't bringing in any paydays. Tank had zero reason to fight the guy.
I keep telling NSB - learn to recognize when a guy is fighting for money vs. true legacy.
It's ironic that when Tank is blatant about his focus on cash, he gets criticized, but when Crawford straight up ducks a mandatory to chase money, he gets praised.
At some point, NSB really does need to be consistent.Comment

Tank had zero reason to fight him? How about for the titles? Any fighter worth a damn wants to be champion. Tank has been cherry picking his entire career and avoided Haney, Shakur, Loma, and Teo among others.

Crawford put in his time, because undisputed in two weight classes. When he beat the boogeyman at 147 he still didn’t get the credit or respect he deserves. Never mention Tank and Bud in the same sentence again.Comment

Tank & his team are chasing money & money only. I'm on record as saying Money>Legacy, but that doesn't mean legacy & reputation isn't in play while making money decisions. The way Tank is moved appears to be without any consideration of legacy or reputation & only about maxing out $$$ & limiting risk.Comment
