Yoka vs Mehry going under the radar?

His stock had dropped enormously since he won Olympic Gold and got a megadeal for TV rights from Canal+ but I'm still intrigued to see whether Yoka can come back and be a contender again. It seems no network is bothering to cover his fight tonight, except Canal+ who probably have a legal requirement to televise it. So it appears you have to make do with French lang commentary if you want to watch. Not a big deal as they throw in English boxing phrases all the time and if you know how things work, it's generally obvious what they're saying.

If he loses to Merhy tonight, not sure whether Yoka still has a career as a fighter. And Canal+ will be desperate to never feature him again. We're maybe 60-90 mins away from the fight. Merhy has looked good in the buildup...

Even if Yoka wins, his career as a fighter will be extremely limited at best. He'll never be a contender and when he has wrung as much money as possible out of being an Olympian, he'll fade away. He's missing some vital element of what it takes to be a top level professional fighter.

Maybe be could coach? Maybe he can teach others what he can't, himself, do.

According to the biased French commentary team, Yoka won that fight by 2 rounds. The truth is all over his battered face. Tony won 3 rounds at most, and that's being generous. Merhy popped him throughout the fight with heavy head and body shots. Yoka looked scared in there.

But I'm happy the judges did the right thing and gave Merhy the win he deserved.

Yoka is done. Three defeats in a row. Might as well retire.

Yoka's new trainer Don Charles went on a rant on French TV, claiming the judges were idiots because "95%" of Merhy's punches were blocked by Yoka. Then the French TV showed the fight highlights, with Merhy repeatedly connecting with big shots on Yoka's face. Don Charles is a ****in joke.

I guess this is why it went under the radar.
